I just turned 52. I got my beardie last October. Best thing I ever did. I also have a cat, dog and tropical fish. I have gotten into tropical vivariums w/ the intention of getting some dart frogs. Got the tank up and running w/ waterfall and some fine jeweled orchids. While waiting for the plants to grow a little and fill out the tank my husband who thought I was going crazy found 2 toads he fell in love w/ so now we had have added to our family. I still have an empty 29 gallon tank I had Lucy my beardie in when I first got her. That will be my next winter project since it gets so cold here in Minnesota. I haven't decided yet if I'll go tropical or get another beadie to cuddle. I may still what my dart frogs.

If you get dart frogs, be sure to post pictures! I'm desperate to have some, but won't be able to for a few years yet, so I try to make do with looking at others'.

that's normal for most beardies his age. If he wasn't like that, I'd say take him to a vet and see what's wrong with him. Our girls are about 3 years old and they love to roam outside and in the bedroom. We play 'find the lizard' upon occasion. Goldie was in the bed but we couldn't find her one day. We were scared that we wouldn't find her for quite a while. She's usually at the head of our bed (on or near the pillows) this day I went to take a nap and stretched out my feet and felt her under my feet. This was after we'd piled a lot of clothing on top of where we found her while we were looking for where she was. When I picked her up she gave me this look that said "what's wrong? I was in the bed!" then I told her we didn't know where you were because she wasn't in the part of the bed where she normally was. I believed she found a new place to hide and sleep and I was right, it just took us several hours to find her.
I do suggest you keep a leash on him, especially when you take him outside, it's easier to find them when something bright is on the end of their leash, especially when they go wandering to check out something new.
I'm getting a harness from Christene as soon as she takes orders again. Since her house was destroyed in Joplin.
I don't like bugs, but don't mind crix anymore. The roommates said no to roaches, though. And I'm cool pickin up worms too. I work at PetCo and there's a girl that works with me and she is scared of EVERYTHING... My boss keeps her on register. LOL
