Help which UV is best

Hi, i was hoping some one can help me. I have a 2yr old male bearded dragon since young i have problems with his eating insects and sometimes veg. He has a large vivirum and seems healthy in himself. Since young i have used a MVP bulb 150w in what my petshop recommend plus a cermic bulb and thermostate. He never basks or is nor active. His bulb blew recently and as i couldnt get to the pet shop i replaced it with an infra red bulb 150w just for the heat, however i have noticed the change in him he now basks and seems happier. What bulb do you recommend a UV tube or anouther MVP bulb.

How many insects does he eat, how much veg? Usually Mercury Vapor Bulbs are 100w and 160w, are you sure it's 150? I would check into a MegaRay MVB from reptileuv.com. They are the best there is, and you can count on their UVB output for 12 months. Some of the other brands of MVB's you can only count on them for 6 months... way before they blow.

Thanks for replying it's a 160w sorry typing error. Ive bought a tube which is 40w so going to see how he gets on his tank is set at 30c if not higher. I was advised to try worming him in which i bought a while back and havent dared to do but i lost the box the wormer is 5ml tube how much is recommend i give him? Loving the site by the way.

Hello,

Which brand of mercury vapor bulb are you using, & how old it is & how close is it to your dragon?
Do you supplement calcium on a regular basis, 3 times per week for your adult?
Does the dewormer tube say what the concentration per ml or cc is? I can help you dose it if you need, but I need the concentration. Is it panacur or some other type of dewormer?
Did you get a fecal done on him?

My mercury bulb was made be RealSun apperntley i've heard its not the best bulb. It would prob be about 15inchs from the bottom but he had access to climb up to be a little near. He has a vitamin powder on his veg but i struggle on his bugs. His wormer is Beaphar and its 5ml. Contains Levamisole 2.5mg/ml. He's quite a good size bearded dragon considering the problems i've been having.

So the Beaphar is liquid correct? How much liquid is he supposed to get, or what is his dose, currently?
How much does he weigh?
That is good he is good sized.
The Real Sun is not the greatest. How long have you had it for now? You could probably try to upgrade to the T-rex active UVB light or the Megaray either one. I know the UK can get them over there.
