HELLO!

I have just gotten a new beardie (had about 3 weeks)...we believe she is to be about 3 and a bit months old....loves to eat and very healthy. The only problem I seem to be having is that she doesnt like to be held.....she has no fear and will jump from any height....she also has now started ....as of today, if she wants to leave and you dont let her she puffs her beard. I just want to know how i fix this and what is ok to do as far as making her stay or do i let her go....WHAT DO I DO TO HELP HER??

THANKS

Welcome to the world of Bearded dragons and BD.org. :D To answer your second question first- the light at night really bothers their sleep. If the viv gets below 60 at night then get a ceramic heat emmiter. It keeps 'em warm without light. If you need her awake before you leave, you can put her lights on a timer. This way she can be up and ready to go when you need her to be.
For calming and tamingtry the beardie burrito. 10 to15 min after lights out, when she has cooled off and is very drowsy, take her out and wrap her in a soft "blankie". If she fights you wait a bit and try again when she is closer to sleep. You can use a piece of fleece or a wash cloth, it really doesn't matter. Then hold her on your chest, stroke her softly and talk to her very softly. My Katherine sings lullabys to ours! :D In a few days you should notice a difference. Hope this helps, good luck with her.

When we first got king he did the same thing. I can't tell you how many times we were holding him and he just jumped. I thought for sure that he was going to kill himself. Eventually he calmed down he still will randomly decide that he wants to jump somewhere and has no fear when he does it. They are pretty sensitive to your emotions so if your nervous about picking him up he will notice and most likely be a little more jumpy. The beardie burrito is a great idea though.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
