ok so My cousin had a friend that got a BD about 7 months ago and it was only about 4 1/2 in long head to tail tip. He is about 8 months old or so and is still not 5 in long. The people that had him were feeding him 5-10 crickets a WEEK and were letting the salad dry out claiming that he would only eat them dried out. He has not had a UV in 5 months and I'm not sure that his tank has ever been at the right temps. I have been trying to get her to give him to me since she she pretty much got him and finally she gave him to me last night. She was only feeding him broccoli and kiwi (he is green from it?) Yes he is green kinda looks like algae on him. I told her 4 weeks ago to stop feeding him that because I didn't know she was feeding him that. I guess it had been going on for a while. He has only had 3 baths in his life. HELP
Right now I have him in a 10gal with what ever heat light she sent with him I will be ordering new lights for all of my BD's today so he will be getting the right light soon. I have some Repti-aid and some baby food that I'm going to try to feed him the next week or so. He has never had vitamins or calcium so he will get that for the first time today. He seems to be alert for the most part. I am not handing him any more than I need to bc he is very stressed and dark. I will post some pics later today I'm trying to clean a new tank for him he will be going into a 40 gal.
He is super cute I hope he can pull threw this. Does anyone have anything else I can try to help him grow? Or know why he is green? I think it is from the broccoli and kiwi? I have not seen any poo the girl that had him said he only goes once a week
As I'm sitting here typing he is gaping and she said that she had never seen him do it. So that makes me feel good
Oh my goodness that poor thing! I hope that green isn't fungus! I would get him to a vet asap. As far as feeding, I'd get him critical care and some waxies. If he hasn't had UVB and he's that small he probably has some mbd going on. Can you post a pic of him? I'd just let him eat as much as he will and bathe him daily, maybe a couple times a day. But I'd say a vet visit is critical right now. Keep us updated. Make sure to tell the vet he's a rescue, sometimes they give discounts.
Here are the pics of Lynich sorry it took so long I have been super busy.
He is eating pretty good for how little he is nd maybe even gonna shedd already.
First night 3/18/11
I wish you could see that he is Green.
Just found this on if you look close you can see the green it kinda looks like a shadow on him but no he is Green
NO 7-10 month old dragon should be this size.
Any help would be great. He is going to the bath room everyday now 4 days and it looks good. Wow never thought I would say Poo "looks good" lol
Oh my goodness, he is so tiny for how old he is! That poor little guy, it sounds like he finally made it into good hands. Can't wait to see more updates!
His color is just that: a slight hue of green. There are beardies sold as " green" , it's just a strange hue of grey actually. And he looks VERY bright, robust and healthy given the improper care he had. Just keep feeding him well and don't worry about the color !
Oh my... hes just so little!!! I honestly never would have believed he was that old!! Hes just a little tiny baby!! I really hope he does well and starts growing soon.... have you got a uv for him yet? Could you maybe put him under one of your other beardies lights for a couple of hours every day until you get one?
Just thought I would post a little update. Lynch is dining a full body shed all ready so happy he is very active and seems to be growing good. I will try to get some pics up soon I have been super busy
