Help finding roaches

Morning everyone

Several factors have contributed to my desire to get some colonies of roaches going. I was never a huge fan of ANY bugs and yet I've managed to put my fears aside for my baby Sakura...but I was always hesitant to jump into the roach breeding world.
Needless to say, with the current weather being what it is, I can't seem to get any crickets shipped to me so that has been a huge factor, amongst others, in my decision to start breeding.

I've traded emails with Chad from BestRoach who absolutely defines the term "best" because he was so helpful and kind, and we've narrowed it down to Turks, Lobsters and Dubia for me. The Turks and Lobsters will handle my current feeding needs while the Dubia colony is growing.
Through some reading and research, I've decided to maybe skip the turks for now because they are super fast movers and that's a little too much "freak factor" for me at the moment... (I need to some time to get used to the idea of having roaches in my house)
Please correct me if I'm wrong about the turks speed.

Long story short...I'm about ready to buy what I need but it seems everyone is out of lobsters...I can't find them anywhere.
I'll be buying my dubia's from Chad, that goes without saying, but does anyone know of a good place that actually has Lobsters in stock??
I found one website that appears to have SOME good reviews from fellow BD.org members (the posts were pretty old though) but they are redonkulously expensive ($2 a piece, thanks but Go RED SOX!!...hint hint)

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance, and a super THANKS to Chad from BestRoach...can't say enough good things about him!!

Lobster climb and stink really bad. Turks do not climb and do not stink as bad as lobsters do, why do you want lobsters over turks? I was selling turks but ran really low so sorry I cant supply for you. I cant even find anywhere to beef up my stock right now which sucks. I love dubia and discoids, both are great roaches!

I have to agree with clear on this, the Turks would be better than the Lobsters IMHO. I never owned lobsters because they can climb glass and I don't plan on ever owning them because of that. I would be much more worried about them getting loose than the Turks.

Turks are quite fast, but I think Lobsters are pretty darn fast too. You are correct, it will take a bit of time to get used to them and their speed, but it isn't that bad at all. Once you learn to handle them by herding them around, they are quite easy to deal with and very predictable.

The thought of a lobster roach running up a glass container just reminds me too much of pest species that I can't stand. At least with the Turks I know they aren't going anywhere other than the bin. I know you can use vaseline as a barrier to keep the Lobsters from climbing out, but I am very paranoid.

If you have the tiniest bit of freakout tendency, I'd suggest that you stay away from the lobsters. They zoom up glass, including your breeding tanks and feeding tanks, and God help you when they breach the Vaseline barrier (which they will). They do breed fast, but if you're feeding only one baby dragon, you'll have approximately 10 billion uneaten roaches that you'll have to care for/dispose. (I froze all of mine outside last January)

This is why I would go w/ Dubias. Since you only have one lizard your feeding, they don't breed as fast. They grow pretty slow... But... you'll have all sorts of sizes. Plus Adult Beardies LOVE the adult male Dubias. It takes about 4 or 5 of them to fill up a Beardie. Just make sure you are also feeding you lizard the proper amount of greens, fruits and vegetables a day. Feed the roaches in the evening.

I have to admit, I do have all three, dubia, turks and lobs. Ofcourse I am also feeding 3 babies ! Rather will be. So with 2k lobs, 200 turks and around 50 or so dubias, I am set ! I also feed 2 adult leo geckos, so I kinda needed all of these !

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
