Its been 3 or 4 days since he last pooed. What could be worng ? His appitite has been a little off but other than that no other signs of problems. We give him a bath everyday and massage his side but he has no bumps or anything in his belly. We have an appointment at the vet for him tuesday. Anyone have any ideas.

I'm having the same problem with my 9-month-old beardie. He hasn't pooped for more than a week now. I just took him to a vet this afternoon -- the vet felt his belly and he says it doesn't feel like impaction or anything, so told me not to worry. He also asked me what kind of diet I give him (mostly silkworms and veggies, sometimes butterworms, hornworms, phoenix worms, and small crickets) -- and he says he would worry if I was feeding him too many large crickets or mealworms, but this diet shouldn't give him impaction. I use tiles instead of sand for his cage, too.

My vet's advice was to bathe him every day in warm water (not just "luke warm" but "pretty warm" -- about 95 - 100F) until he poops. He also says having him sit in a sunlight is really good too. The warm temperature helps them poop.

You're taking him to a vet on Tuesday, so your vet should be able to tell you what's going on too!!

give your dragon a dab of applesauce with a drop or two of extra virgin olive oil mixed in. they should like the taste and it will get their insides moving again.

young dragons have a sharp U-turn at the end of their digestive system. if they are being feed prey items too large for them(or too fiberous), the item will pass through their system without fully breaking down(think of people and corn  )... if this happens, it can plug them up and cause discomfort and a lack of appetite.

if you do the applesauce and E.V.O.O. thing it should clear them right up. i had to do it a couple times with my smallest dragon, LG.

good luck to both of you; i hope to vet visits go well  .

Thank you, jscott -- I didn't have olive oil, so I tried with a drop of vegetable oil, and it totally worked! He pooped this morning. I think it has been more than 10 days... Thank you so much for the info!

Beardiewoody, how is your beardie doing? I hope your vet visit goes well... Let us know!!

the vet visit went well and also tried the oil only used extra light olive oil and it worked extremly well. the vet specalizes in reptiles and said that ours was the best one she had ever seen and that she wished evryone that brought there in took as good of care of them as we did. also finaly found out what sex our beardie is and it is a female. my wife took a stool sample back to the vet later today for her to send off so we will wait and see.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
