Didn't you check him over when the accident happened to make sure there weren't any other injuries besides the foot, evidently not. He needs to see a vet immediately, you wanted these babies so now you NEED to do the right thing and get him taken care of. He doesn't deserve to be in pain like that. Where in Michigan do you live, perhaps we can help find another reptile vet in your area.
Why are you jumping to that conclusion? Why don't you see what the vet can do first? I really do not undertand your thinking on this.A minute a go you said he was getting better then there was a turn for the worse and now you are going right for putting him down.I am sorry but I am very confused and I really feel like I am missing something here or that your leaving out pieces of the situation. Was he attacked or something?
No,he was acting fine but a couple hours later then he just was out of it, he put his head down and closses his eyes, he stopped running, he stopped basking. It's like it just hit him. I havent seen this before and I think it's the best decision.

Of course he stopped he is in massixe pain, that does not mean he is not saveable.Every life is worth at least trying to save.I am sorry and I may be wrong but it looks to me that you just do not want to spend the extra effort needed to save him or at least try to.I am not intending on being mean but honestly there is only one reason I can think of for the decisions you have made so far with him and it seems like it is all being driven by $$$.I am going to ask you again to remember that all living things deserve a chance and that you are soley responsible for these lives. They are not disposable income so please do the right thing. If it turns out he needs euthanasia then so be it but at least try to get him care first.I would really like to see a pic of this little guy.
I will call the vet tommarrow and change the appointment and see what they can do, but I really don't think they can do anything. His tail was turning black and he couldn't move it. I just can't post pics it crushes me just looking at the babies.
he needs immediate medical attention. i am not sure how one drops a 10 gallon tank on a lizard in the first place. As soon as he seemed to be in discomfort he should have gone to a vet (any vet!). How old are you and you say you have hatched these on your own--have you bred the dragons before?
And as vickson says, don't make the appt for euthanization UNLESS you know he CANNOT be helped. My guy has had some broken bones and couldnt move one foot for a few days but after meds and tender loving care he is fine theres days. If you are so upset about the euthanization, then don't do it unless they say absolutely nothing can be done. Have you called around to OTHER vets (in the phonebook) to see if they do exotics?
