Alright! And the heat pads will do alright under my plastic tub? I know you said it won't light on fire but have you ever had yours melt the plastic? I am getting a 10 gal tub and I don't know what size heat pad I should get, lol.
Great to have all this in one spot. A lot of it seems pretty instinctual, food and water under the vent so it cycles out and "where they live (egg crates) are shaded. The temperature is easily controlled. A thermometer/hydrometer combo does that. Feeding/watering? Easy. These little guys won't be so tough! Hell, if I can raise a couple batches of silkworms..... The only thing I'm worried about is how INTERESTING their rustling is going to be to the cats. Man... I bought a cup to make sure my little guy liked them (my adult female beardie was nonplussed). He loves them, but a smallish male dubia got loose. Took off like a SHOT! My fattest brown tabby cat was on him and nomming like nobody's business before I could even say "come BACK dragon food!" Oh dear.....
Lol yeah beardies love them roaches...and apparently your cat too  The males are pretty fast and skittish. The females seem to be more easy going. Kinda funny I see em raise their head like they are looking at me  Then I look over and see my beardie looking at me....
I'm too cheap, I just use paper towel and toilet paper rolls for them. They seem to love em and kinda funny seeing the large ones actually push the rolls around.
With them feeding my baby I have a LOT of them because she's packing them away (He turned out to be she despite a seemingly telltale starting split at the tail base). With how many I have the egg crates were needful so they didn't end up living ON each other. Then I pick out what's going to feed for the week and chuck it in a large cricket keeper and leave the bin undisturbed. Everybody likes to watch the keeper, clear sides and all.
Nice. Yeah my colony is more or less just starting so the paper towel rolls work atm. I only got 1 beardie so I shouldn't need a huge colony. Harley packs away around 600-700 3/8 inch roaches a month.
Hi, thank you for the useful information!
I would like to ask what kind of dry food should I feed them that are high in protein? (not commercial roach food, they're expensive to keep up with)
Is it true that if I feed them dog food or cat food that the 'junk' consumed would be passed to my dragon since that's what the roaches are eating?
