The vet's prices are way over the top compared to many others. I'd not let them do anything else, at least tell them you're getting the MBD under control and won't need any more " help " with that. Those prices are outrageous ! One of my boys developed an underbite years ago, he's 11 now and still eating well and is alert and active. See if you can find another vet just to see about his tongue.
I will thank you so much for the kind words.
I’m trying to be the best parent I can be, but almost $3k just to possibly get a diagnosis is a little outrageous I agree
They should not be prescribing antibiotics for pin worms- here is a list of meds used
Ponazuril – used to treat Coccidia – 30 mg/kg every two days for four days
Toltrazuril – used to treat Coccidia – 5-15 mg/kg once every fourteen days (some concerns about the safety of this drug)
Oxfendazole – used to treat nematodes – a single dose of 68 mg/kg
Fenbendazole – used to treat roundworms – between 25 and 100 mg/kg every 14 days for two to four doses
Trimethoprim-sulfa
What kind of UVB are you using? If you can get the test results and post on here Tracie can look at them and then give her input - can you post pics of the under bite- and a pic of the tongue as well - pics will help here a lot
Yes! There seems to be one not terribly far away but I’m waiting on the email so I can tell them exactly what it is I need! Apparently they had my name on the email mis spelled (even though it’s literally the last name on the account)
I live in vegas, here it cost me 42 dollars for a fecal and if i actually take a beardie to the vet the office visit is 70 to 80 dollars. (For comparison purposes)
So they are saying she has a 4+ meaning a high level of pinworms. That's pretty common and Panacur is usually given for that.
Is this all the write up from the first vet to estimate the cost further treatment ?
The rest of the paperwork mentions sedatives + anesthetics given for surgery, ketamine, dexmedetomidine, lidocaine.

Yes the fecal results and the cost estimate for future work to determine what could be causing “MBD”. The surgical part of the equation is for the tongue biopsy
O.K so if you get a new vet you can see what they would charge for treating the pinworms or you can but Panacur online, Tracie sells it on her website .
Then when they do the tongue biopsy see if they will remove the entire lump since it will need to be done anyway. The biopsy can include the lump removal.
No treatment for the MBD except more calcium , possible liquid and Tracie has that as well.
