I know he's reached his full maturity but still expect him to eat regularly and poo regularly. He barely eats now. I'm talking like 3 worms and maybe 2 roaches a week. ? He haven't pooped in a while or if he has perhaps he ate it? I smelled something but couldn't find it he also never did that before . There has been very little weight loss and he still seems alert and active and willing to bask... I'm at a loss. I might add that I had 2 unexpected moves from one apartment to another maybe it has contributed stress? When I put food I front of him he looks interested for a minute but then looks away maybe even licks the bowl his food is in! It's very heart breaking and I love my reptiles very much , as soon as I have time he's going to a vet for sure this has been going on for about two weeks now. his vent is clean and all vitals seem good what is this happening !!?? Any clues?? I will upload some photos soon promise

Especially when they are adults. Just keep providing a nice big salad every day and let him dictate when he needs some food. Keep tracking his weight too. If that drops significantly then a vet visit is certainly in order. Based on what I've seen he may just bounce back on his own and get hungry again soon enough.

Bearded dragons don't particularly eat their own poop.. heh. How old is he? How long has this been going for? Also considering if you moved, that can also add to it.

He just turned 1 yr In February this is fairly recent behavior about the last 2 weeks or so.. leaving options open in gonna pick up some horn worms soon and if that don't work I'm out a ton of food money and he's going to the vet!

He's old enough for brumation now, so that could be it as well.
EllenD":1ibcjmk5 said:One thing I can tell you for sure is that if he is getting ready for brumation (possible but not likely, but still possible) you definitely do not want him to go into it if he actively has parasites! That will cause an entire plethora of problems for sure, because when he comes out of the brumation, when he needs to start eating and drinking again, he'll be infested with parasites or worms and won't start to eat again and then will have bowel movement issues, and then it's a vicious cycle. So I'd hurry an get him to a certified Reptile vet that has experience doing fecal testing and prescribing antiparasitic meds (make sure you ask when you make the appointment about the vet's experience), and I would not let him go into brumation before you get him tested and treated if need be. I'm hoping it's just relocation stress, he hasn't lost weight so that's good, but I just wanted to give you a head's up. I've seen a few bearded dragons allowed to go into brumation for months with suspected parasites or infections, and when they woke up they had actually lost weight while asleep, and getting a fecal sample was impossible because they hadn't eaten in so long.
