The Best (And Safest) Substrates for Bearded Dragons Choosing The Best Substrate for a Bearded Dragon Choosing the Best Substrate for Bearded Dragons (I find the table particularly useful) IMO floor tile makes the best substrate--stone, ceramic, or vinyl; it's easy to clean & sanitize, and with proper cleanup, won't absorb odors. Stone & ceramic can also help keep claws/nails maintained.
