A few questions on Dubias. I'm thinking of creating a small colony and I know that it takes a while before it actually kicks off. However, for feeding I know that you don't want to feed the BD anything larger than the space between its eyes. so little nymphs are the ones sought after for baby and juvenile dragons, but can an adult dragon eat an adult roach? or is that too big? Can they be live? I was reading somewhere that they have to be ground up.
Yes a adult can eat an adult roach. I wouldnt feed the females off though. My adult eats a male or two every now and then. Feed them live, when they run your dragon will chase it.
Thanks that was a bit confusing and there are a lot of mixed answers on the web :/ Will dubias eat their young like crickets? Also has anyone tried to feed the Zilla gut loader cricket feed to the roaches? Or do they only accept fresh foods and water gel?
personally I would just go to one of the breeders either theroachguy.com or aaronpauling.com and order the water crystals. Theroachguy.com has water crystals for a pound is $9. So for twice the money you will have about 10times the crystals. You can always buy the roach chow there as well.
