Don't worry. It sometimes takes a long while. I have had some come out head only and stay there for several hours and then finally wiggle further out stopping for another long while. Even after they are fully out all they will want to do is rest. I have not lost any babies during the actually hatching. I have had some die in the eggs before hatching but once they start to come out they are strong little guys.
This is why I love you guys! My eegs were laid on April 7th and after waiting like a crack fiend for them to hatch, I was going to ask if the dimpling of the eggs meant the time is near and wouldn't you know it, this was the second post down! A few of them are starting to dimple. I am so excited! This will be my first successful (fingers crossed) hatching. I know the eggs were good. I have 19 in there.....oh boy!
you lost one of them. I am so sorry. some are just not meant to make it so dont beat yourself up about it. there isnt much you can do about them in that first few hours of life besides just hope they get going.
Ive had one collapsed for 4 days now, 2 for 3 days, and 1 started today. another egg i think died, it got moldy and started to collapse, I put it in a separate container just in case though...how much longer??????
This is torture...and Wanda layed 33 more tonight...my 2 incubators are at capacity...
81 total eggs...and were on clutch 3. Some better start hatching asap
Well, Spryas 2nd clutch was due to start hatching the other day, but none of the 16 eggs have even shown any signs of collapsing yet. I know they are fertilized. I 2nd guessed myself the other day, and cut an egg open. I had to be sure. Sure enough, there was a fetus in there. I felt bad about basically killing one of my own, but I had to know.
