Clutch # 2 has arrived...

Ok so Bonnie finally laid 17 eggs today :shock: YAY!! Question is...one of my containers where I place the eggs seemed more damp than the others. Is it ok for me to leave that one without a lid until it dries out more? I would just mix dry vermiculite with it, but I'm fresh out. Will it be ok? I don't want them to mold, but I don't want to harm them with it being open either.

Well, im not sure about BD eggs but with leopard gecko eggs it is fine to just leave the lid off. Just as long as the hum dont get to high, But thats with my leopard gecko eggs. Maybe some one else can help.

I would personally just leave the lid on, if you have the correct amount of holes in the container you shouldn't have to worry about the eggs being to humid... And I like to keep the humidity a little higher during the first 2 weeks in the incubator to make sure the eggs stay nice a plump as if they are going to deflate due to having the humidity to low it's during the first month!

**UPDATE**
All 17 eggs are doing great. They are still white & very plump. I candled them and every one is fertile. Now reality sets in...what have I gotten myself into :shock: On the other hand I am so excited. I'll keep you guys updated. Clutch 1 should be hatching by the end of the month. We only have 5 left out of that clutch.
