So did you get a chance to see the Dr Who season finale? :!: Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it yet: I really liked the way things ended up for Bill. It's kind of funny that kids who are just learning to read sometimes do a better job of it than adults when it comes to reading what it says on a service dog's vest before you try to pet him. Go figure. :? Lots of vets seem to prescribe pumpkin to help with regular bm's, I guess because it has good fiber. I even had a cat who tended to have poop about the consistency of yogurt and the vet told me to give him pumpkin. It seems to be more of a laxative for beardies and probably especially for Broly because of his kidney thing. Yeah, technically pumpkin is squash but it's a special kind of squash as opposed to butternut or whatever. Sounds like you and Broly had a little misunderstanding about what he wanted. I have a hard time figuring out what Puff wants sometimes too. They're probably thinking "I was very clear with my request and how come the stoopid hooman can't figure out what I want?" :P We did manage to figure out that the big plastic tub we've been using to feed Puff wasn't working so well for him anymore, possibly because it's colder than his basking platform and maybe also because the surface is too slippery for him to get a good foothold. So this last weekend I tried putting some roaches in a little "dish" (actually the plastic lid from a large jar of nuts -- they make good beardie dishes) and putting it all right in front of his nose while he was basking in his tank. Bingo. He managed to scarf up about 10 of them in a fairly short time. I quit doing that with crickets because they jump away from him and hide behind the cage furniture, but I figured I might be able to get away with it with roaches because they're easier to catch just as long as you can keep track of them. We're talking about getting him some more crickets and trying the plastic tub again, maybe with a towel on the bottom and a heat lamp to make it a little warmer.
