So far thanks for your help, i think you saw the age of my dragons - and i won't start breeding before female is at least 18 month old, so earliest in january 2011. I hope that shows i do a lot of "brainstorming" of what is the best what i can do.
My first decision was, that i won't breed silkbacks - so i won't breed a leatherback x leatherback.
I will find my way, the main reason is not the money, and i love all my dragons - i would never sell any of my bought dragons to breed in another way - additional dragon may be, but therefor more space is needed.
My reason for being so critical is I have a friend who admiresmy animals. "breeding is easy anyone can do it." he says. I rant and rave stating my arguments and so on. Already having a male dragon, he purchases what is "supposed to be" a female dragon. Fast forward to present time. He calls me to tell me he was going to breed the 2 dragons. He puts the animals together, leaves the room to smoke a ciggarette. Comes back to a mangled animal. Both happen to be males. Fiiguring that he had a gauranteed gold mine, and not heed my advice, a perfectly good animal was torn to nothing. Not to mention the dragon was only 14 inches10 or 11 months old. So i may be hypercritical, I just want you guys to see where I am coming from, and tha I am not just being a jerk. I am care about my animals!!!

Not everyone does things the way your friend does. Some people breed for the experience and the chance to "possibly" strengthen these animals. Yes some think its all about the money, and hopefully the get good advice on here too that way when they get flabbergasted at how much work, time, and money it takes to raise a clutch, they realize that its not about the money lol.
Hi,
what is the diffrence/advantage between breeding with the outcrossed genetics and carrying it directly. I know that the breeding results are diffrent, in case they carry it directly HT x HT i will get 100% HT. When i take an het HT x HT i get less HT. Would also be OK.
But what is the main reason i get more healthy BD when i take het BDs, because they have also the genetics.
