Bearded dragon puffed up and beard got real dark while eating

she went down to eat. She puffed up her beard while eating. Now it is really dark/ I’m not sure if she got mad or something worse. Please help. I was adding more food when she did it. So hand was near her

Her beard is looking better now. Was she just mad? Or was it something worse and do I need to do anything for her now or in the future when I feed her?

She wanted to eat the whole time. Even when her beard and throat were bigger. I gave her a cricket and a green after her beard went down and got a bit brighter.

That is pretty dark for sure. Might just be her mood, she's a moody girl. I had one that used get a black beard , the only female I can remember that would get grouchy a good deal of the time. This is her.

She’s very cute! Do you think she was choking or anything like that? Because she was eating her greens at the time. But I also stuck my hand right next to her as she was eating when it happened.

You would be able to tell if she choking. I think she was just in a bad mood, plus she's shedding so that factors in as well. She looks more relaxed in the last pic.

Ok, thank you very much! It was very frightening because she was eating at the time, and she tends to eat a lot at once too.

Hello,

They can turn their beard dark for no reason at all,
but most of the time they turn dark if something startled them or they get mad at something.
I think she will be fine!
