Bathroom Bother

Draco has gotten to where he will only use the bathroom at bathtime but he still has some troubles even then.

After he is done it looks as if he is prolapsed just a little bit, after I dry him and he gets some warm time under the basking light it goes back to looking normal. I have adjusted his diet, no more mealworms, switched to supers only plus collard greens and mustard greens. Dusting with Calcium about 3 meals each week, as well as vitamins once a week. Draco is over a year old and is at 17.5 to 18"

Reptisun 10.0 tube UV and basking temp is around 100. I use a probe but I just had it calibrated and its badly out. Ordered an RF temp gun.

Superworms are great but still have shells so until he gets his poop problem fixed you might want to try something like phoenix worms. Adding a bit of fruit to the diet can soften stool. You may even want to try baby food for a bit. Your temps sound OK, he may just be a bit "clogged". Hopefully a slight change in diet will help him pass this. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can check his vent for blockage, bending the tail up slightly and using a damp cotton swab to gently clean out the area. It's a sensitive area though so you may want a vet to check it for you. When it prolapses does it appear inflamed or discolored? Is he straining? Does the poo come out in a fairly solid piece or in lots of little bits?

He does seem to be straining, I am not sure if it's discolored or inflamed or not but it's is just barely visible and goes back in after a bit of sunning.

Are there any insects I should give him or just put him on a veggie/fruit only diet for a couple of days?

His poo comes out in usually two solid pieces one pieces with urates in it and another longer piece.

Sounds fairly normal. Sometimes their cloaca will remain open a bit after a potty, particularly if they do it in water. Try adjusting the diet a bit and he should be fine. If the stool is very hard or he acts like going is painful he may need vet care.

I would stick with soft bodied insects for now.. silk worms, phoenix worms, etc. You can start giving him a bit of applesauce on a regular basis to help loosen him up a bit. If he is straining all the time, I would think about making these changes permanent. Also, you may consider bumping the basking temps up about 5*, which may help in digesting. How old is your reptisun?
