When I got her in February she was 6 months. She measured around 9 1/2 in long.
Rexi is 9 months old now and she is measuring 13 1/2 in.
Ive read a lot on she is suppose to be bigger than that?
When I got her she was small, and you can tell now she has grown a lot and she is much fattttter
I went to the Reptile show in concord last month and a lady told me they stop growing around 1yr 1/2.....and now is the time to be feeding her the most....
She loves hornworms, she eats her crickets, and the past 3 weeks she eats all of her lettuce! She is eating well and basking good!
Could her age be wrong? How am I suppose to be able to figure that out?
It's really hard to tell how old a beardie is by their length and weight just b/c they all grow at different rates.. Scarlett is 7 months and she's about 15 inches but she was small as a baby and it took her awhile to really start growing and gaining weight @ a consistent pace. As long as she is eating and growing and gaining weight I wouldn't be concerned..
i used to worry about the size of my beardie. She was the smallest of her hatch and at 4 months was about 9 inches. She never had a massive appetite but now at 1 year old she is 17.5 inches, 480g and still growing (mainly outwards). they go through growth spurts where they really sprout, yours may well do as well
I do think you should not stress about your beardie's growth rate as they are all individuals. in fact i suffer from a little of the opposite concern sometimes...my beardie seems to be a monster!!! my Freddie's hatch date was Jan 7 so he is now just 4 months old this week (and from a respected breeder - Rockinarz Dragons, so I know the hatch date is correct). Ok - he's 15.25" and 230 grams  . So, really, there seem to be dragons all over the spectrum.
My fatty man is over 14" at 5 mos... Saw a 4 year old adult in the pet store the other day who was shorter but his head was just huge.... they are all so weird and wonderful........
thanks...i called the pet shop i got her from and said they think she was crossed with german giant and sandfire....but she's eating and stuff and growing....it's just my boyfriend bugging me to death that he wants her to be huge lol
Aw............ how'd he lose his tail... unless you mind me asking of course.... I shut the car door on my dog's tail by accident many years ago.. took off 4 inches after surgery.
I am not sure we got him from a rescue and he already had lost it and some toes! She had bred the clutch he was in then the pet store sold him and someone returned him like that! She saw him and said no way is someone doing that to my baby again! So, she took him in and we just happened across her!!! She has tons of rescues! Very cool! He is the sweetest guy in the world! very easy going and patient!!!!
Aw - makes me cry what happens to animals... Glad he has you - sounds like a doll! I am just simple for my guy too. Can't believe it... over a reptile LOL. But I really think there is something very special about beardies! They are just so lovable!
