Hi. My name is Liz. Just yesterday I brought home Morgana. My mother's best friend got her a few months ago. He's felt bad that he cant hold her more because she is very sweet. I went over one time and held her. We took a nap on his bed for at least half an hour while he cleaned her cage. We had to stay locked in the bedroom because his three dogs go nuts over her. I think that had a lot to do with him not keeping her. He didn't want her getting killed. That night, I went online and looked for a lizard that would cuddle with me like her and be my constant companion clinging to me as I went about my day. Maybe even one that could swim. I didn't really finish the search. I decided to just stick with my baby turtles. Then he got some gym equipment and had no place to put it. So a few days ago he called and asked if I wanted her. He said he would only give her to me and thought I would give her more of the attention she needs. I looked up some information on bearded dragons before I got her and more today. We went to the pet store and got her a harness, crickets which the pet store dusted for me, bearded dragon pellets, and some new sand. She is in a...I think its a 20 gallon, with a flourecent light overhead, a heating pad under a log (its like a hollowed out half of a log about the same length as her) a fake plant with a suction cup that wont stick, a rather large water dish with stairs, and a small food dish I filled with pellets. I gave her about four crickets, and four more this morning because she seemed hungry(moving around her cage and looking around-there was a cicada like noise outside that seemed to excite her) I started her last night on UVB drops because it happened to be Sunday-the day I medicate my turtles. I'm not sure if she got them. It said to put it on her lips and she'd lick it off or put it on food she'll readily eat. She didn;t lick her lips for half an hour even after I rubbed them with a grape I tried to feed her. I didn't push it because I didn't want to overdose her. I think I'll try it on a cricket next week. I wonder if it will stay on the cricket long enough for her to eat it. Then she watched a movie with my mom and I, till about midnight. She slept on me most of the time. It was cute because if I moved she'd just move around a little with her eyes closed to get back on top of me. She is roaming around my mom's room right now. She was interested in my typing at first and demanded to get up on the desk and see it. Once she did she just sat on the desk and looked around. I'm thrilled to find out she can cling, I didn't think she could. I think she might be my perfect companion lizard, aside from the swimming part. But I've got my turtle babies to swim with. I know her cage is not sufficient. I was thinking of a side opening one so I could leave it open for her to get back into when she is free in my room. I also dont know if she will get along with my turtles who also roam about my room alot. I have two cooters and a baby map turtle. The baby is only a little bigger than a fifty cent piece. His name is Chad. Alex is twice his size and Jamie is twice Alex's side. I'm afraid they wont get along. Any advice is very very welcome-on turtles too. I hope this wasn't too long but I wanted to tell her story. She's about 14 inches long, 1 inch between the eyes, 7 inches tail from between her back legs. Her tail looks like its damaged, it ends round and has rough nicks at the end. Is it supposed to come to more of a point?- is she missing part of her tail? Just curious. Anyways I'm really happy to have found this site while I was looking for information on feeding. I know some about turtles but nothing about beardies exept the little I've read. Any help or friends would be wonderful.
