    Beardie Attack!!

There is a simple explanation. Bearded Dragons are solitary animals. When houses together they can seem okay, until out of the blue this can happen. Each dragon should have its own living quarters.

    feeding dubia to a hatchling

I know that a hatchling dragon can eat 50+ small crickets per day. And I've heard you can feed them dubia instead. But if I were to replace with the dubia, how many would they eat? Is it still the 50+ a day even though the roaches are more substantial? And how many adult roaches would be...

    Gut Loading HELP!

Yeah, not getting replys can be frustrating. When I had my colony, I would feed them dog food, fish flakes and oatmeal I put through a blender and made into a fine powder. I would also always have some fresh fruit in there.

    how often?

I was just curious, how often can bearded dragons be SAFELY bred and how many clutches are typical? I know females can lay several clutches. I was wondering because I've been thinking of getting a new baby once I get my new girl all settled. There is a breeder locally that produces some great...

    CHE

I have a couple questions about CHEs. 1. There are several different styles, which one is considered best? 2. Sillas new Viv is about 3.5 x 2.5 x 2, what watt would I need to get?

Stumped by Lighting...lots of questions...seeking input

Whenever I had problems like that in the past where one bulb was to hot and the next one too cold I would go for the one that gets to hot and plug it into a plug that I got at petsmart that allows you to dim the light. It was less than 20 dollars and let me get the temps right where I wanted them.

    New Viv

So here is what I'm starting with. It was a retail display at a store I used to work for. It is 7 ply maple. The plan, in a nutshell is to cut most of the middle shelf out, leaving enough for a ledge for her to climb onto. I will also be framing out the front and putting two plexiglass doors...

    I'm back!

I'll have to check out that 40 breeder. I have an old wooden retail display that is in the size range of a crossfire cage, but taller. It would take some modification, but I could get it to work. I'll have to see what I can do. I'll be ordering her light soon. Thanks for all the help!

    I'm back!

Well, here she is. They insisted I come by tonight to pick her up. Which didn't make me happy as I wasn't quite ready for her. They also decided to not pass along her aquarium. Which means she gets to sleep in this rubbermaid container for the night. I feel really bad for her. She seems...

    I'm back!

Back in 2006 I bought my first beardie. Like a lot of people I didn't know that much about them when I got the little guy. In doing my research, I came across this site and quickly joined. After changing my setup completely, I was able to give him a good home. Then, through the years I...

    We've got digging!

No news is... no news. After that one day, she has not made any other attempt to dig. She is active, and eating a lot. I really am baffled at why there was only the one day of digging.

Canned Dried Crickets bad or good???

I like to think of it like eating cheap frozen dinners for breakfast lunch and dinner. There is very little nutritional value in them. A large portion of the nutrition from live crickets comes from them being gut loaded, which you can't do with dead ones.

    Hatchlings: Crix Vx. Dubia

So, let's just do the math... If you are to go through 10,000 dubia a week, that would be 40,000 a month (10,000*4). Now let's just average it out to one female dubia roach making 20 babies a month, I would need to get 2,000 female dubia (40,000/2000) to support the hatchlings that you have...

    Hatchlings: Crix Vx. Dubia

So how many dubia nymphs do you think they would go through? Would it be about the same as crix?

    Hatchlings: Crix Vx. Dubia

Okay, so when and if my girl ever lays her eggs, and they hatch, they are going to need a LOT of feeders. I was originally planning on just doing crix, but if I could do dubia, that would be better. My question is, how many nymphs daily will a hatchling eat? I know the standard rule of how...

    We've got digging!

Well, still no change. She has not dug at all since the first day. She is still eating, but not as much as before. She stopped eating for a day, but now she is eating a bit again. My biggest problem is that I have no idea how far along she would be. I bought her from someone who told me...

how do you keep your veggies?

I have to buy them every few days. I can't seem to keep collards past 3-4 days before it starts to turn. I will chop it up, throw it in some gladware, shred some squash on top and keep it in the fridge.

EGG Laying substrate sterilization please read...

There was a post a few years ago about doing the same sort of thing in the oven. I couldn't find it though. Do you know what temp the substrate would need to be to ensure sterilization?

    We've got digging!

Okay, so today she hasn't moved at all. She was still in the exact same place she was in this morning when I left for work. No digging, nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
