I use a dimmable fixture on it so I can keep the temp down and raise it in the winter as well

It’s temp is at 113 so I bought a dimmable fixture to adjust the temps, also have a 45 watt one sitting in the middle to give some added warmth, is that good?

I got the 90 watt par38 halogen bulb and I’m not sure how to test the temperature for it, the bulb is super hot but I’m not sure how much heat it is producing, I use a temp gun to check it. Is it maybe not enough watts to produce the right amount of heat? If so what other bulbs could I use?

Okay I’ll see if hanging it under the mesh works

Is it okay to put it in the side? I don’t want it in the screen above, gets in the way of my heat lamps.

I’m not sure how this reptisun terrarium hood works. I have a mesh screen so I want to mount it inside of tank so I can also have my heat lamp above the screen. Is it okay to use Velcro adhesives to mount it inside?

So should I be feeding him everyday with insects even tho my breeder doesn’t? Like how often should I feed him and how often to dust with the calcium and vitamins if he isn’t fed everyday?

I’m in Canada and I can’t get roaches here so supers are our main staples I’m pretty sure. But what about the multi vitamin powder? Would I put that on as well with calcium? And if I only put it on he bugs it would only get 1-2 times a week for calcium right?

I am a returning owner. I just need a refresher on lighting. I know what kind of uvb bulb to mount on the inside of the tank but I don't know what wattage and how much of the tank to cover. I have a 40 gallon tank. I also need recommendations for what type of basking light to use.

The tank is a 40 gallon tank so 36x18x16. I'm not sure about the set up yet, was going to do that based on what kind of lights to use.
