    Phoenix worms as main staple

It was, I really can't say enough great things about that store, it's currently the only place Boris gets his live food from. The lady who owns the place is named Simone, and she had a huge wealth of knowledge on all things reptiles. Highly recommend checking them out, hope it works out for you!

General health checkup - 1yr old

They were just down in Red Deer for a show, I'm thinking it was reptile related. I can only guess, but I'm sure they would be involved with anything in Edmonton as well. The store is just south of Stony Plain road on 151st, small mom and pop shop. They breed their own silk & horn worms and have...

General health checkup - 1yr old

Thanks for weighing in guys, we appreciate it. When he was still on crickets he was getting Repashy Supervite about once a week and Supercal NoD about twice. We have an incredible reptile food store locally, the cricket gut load they have changes monthly, is made in house, and is full of...

General health checkup - 1yr old

Hey guys, it's been a long time since we've checked in Our little buddy Boris is usually pretty happy and healthy, he gets a fair amount of attention, lives in a clean environment and gets a pretty varied diet. We're coming up on about a year old. He's eaten his veggies since he was just a...

Do your timers create resistance on your bulbs?

Hopefully it was just a one-off issue and your temps are alright. I plugged straight into my wall yesterday and manually turned on all my light (150w bask, repti 10.0 T5, 40w LED) Consistent with any other day, 110 on my basking rock, 72ish cool side. This was after about a 90 minute warm up...

A few questions about buying bugs online

I've got an 11" dragon who ate 100 phoenix worms/150ish crickets/daily salads in about 4 days (about $25 in live prey). This was about two weeks ago. If crickets are an option for you, your wallet will thank you.

Do your timers create resistance on your bulbs?

I have the zoomed 8 outlet timer, I can experiment with temps this weekend and get back to you. As far as UVB levels, I'm not equipped to measure, but logically it could make sense. Do you have a reputable UVB bulb? Even if frequencies were 5-10%~ lower I think that would be sufficient

Hello there, I think I am insane.

I can confirm you are not insane. Went though almost the exact same thing - spent a ton of time on setup before we brought our little guy home. It's great to be prepared, but be aware once you get her you will start second guessing everything you did, and questioning if her behaviour is 'normal'...

    Our buddy Boris

We brought our little guy home about a month ago, he's currently about 12 weeks old, and in continuous shed. Doesn't really like the bath so far, so we try to keep them to a minimum. He's a pretty awesome eater, will put away a ton of crickets and salad every day. At 10 weeks old he was 8", 40g...

soon-to-be newbie beardie owner with random work schedule.

I really lucked out I think - I found a lady through kijiji who takes reptiles to kids birthday parties. She has a mating pair of dragons and treats it as a hobby more than a business. She invited me to her house, and I got a chance to see how all her animals were cared for (which was extremely...
