    Removing dubia from adult diet

My beardie is 3 years old. She's a good eater and loves her greens. I've had a dubia colony that I've been feeding her from since she was a baby. Recently here in Texas we had some winter weather and lost power for several days. My dubia colony is kaput. I'm not particularly excited about...

    Brumation under the heat lamp?

His lights come on at 8am and go off at 10pm, so 14 hours. Maybe I ought to give him another couple hours of light. If I were going to stop him from brumating, how would I go about doing that? Just taking him out often and trying to get him to move around? I wonder if I'm already too late for...

    Brumation under the heat lamp?

Yeah, he's the same dragon that had dark spots I was concerned about. I ended up realizing that he just changes colors a little when he's away from his heat lamp. The temperature at his basking spot stays around 110 degrees F and on the cooler side of the enclosure it's in the mid 80s. I just...

    Brumation under the heat lamp?

Do bearded dragons sometimes prefer to sit under the heat lamp when going into brumation? Mine is about a year old and he never ever goes to the cool side of his 55 gallon enclosure, so I'm wondering if maybe he just prefers his basking spot, even for brumation. I do have digital thermometers on...

    Dark spots (pictures)

Ok, thanks for the advice! I'll look around here for a reptile vet. I'm on the East side of Seattle, so surely there's somewhere reputable around here.

    Dark spots (pictures)

Sure. Here are a few more. It's hard to capture in a photo because my camera doesn't do macro shots very well. The dark spot on his head looks like it could be a shadow or just lighting issues in the photo, but it's a noticeably dark spot in person. The third photo here shows the main dark...

    Dark spots (pictures)

My bearded dragon has developed a couple dark spots on his back. The area behind his left eye has gotten a little darker as well. It could be my imagination, but it seems like they get darker when he's stressed (e.g. bath time). Has anyone seen this before? Is this something to worry about?

    Making a hide area

I use 3 paver stones. Works great, but every once in a while he'll poop on the paper towel under them and I have to unstack and move them. And since they're heavy, I have to be careful not to drop them and crack the bottom glass.

Is my bearded dragon growing faster than normal?

I got my bearded dragon from Petco 5 weeks ago. He wasn't on display with the rest of the bearded dragons. They told me it was because he was a too good of an eater, and wasn't leaving anything for the other dragons. And I got him for 75% off because he was older than they usually sell them at...

Sea roaches for dragon food ?

I would be concerned about parasites living in anything caught "in the wild."

    Need non-styrofoam alternatives. Please help!!!

My enclosure is 24" tall as well, and I also had a hard time getting it hot enough in the basking spot. Here's what I ended up with, and it has been working pretty well for my bearded dragon. The basking light is a 150W incandescent (make sure the lamp fixture is rated for at least as much as...
