How close is too close to the basking light

Thankfully I kept my receipt! I think I will send my fiance back to return the heat rock. Which was pricey. And get a 100w and a stand. + a ceramic emitter... We have the folded bulb to return as well. I busted up part of the branch to get him further and "made a compromise" I put his teddy bear...

How close is too close to the basking light

This is how close he used to get to it. With a 60w incandescent bulb. About 4" or so away... Even when we first got the 75w he was further. And also we used to use a moonlight bulb for heating at night. But idk if he should have that... Am I just a nervous nelly???

How close is too close to the basking light

Ok so been a min since my last post. I'll try to keep this short. Groot passed. Accidental frying by my fiance... 100w bulb... Sheldon is alive and well. We have made upgrades to his tank. Sandmat, UVB hood, large 1/2 log, heating rock, water thing which he actually gets upset if there isn't a...

So, finally got a starter colony (a relatively small one of like 7 males and 20 females & 150 nymphs) averaging roughly 15 nymphs eaten by EACH dragon per meal... Lil piglets... Cut out the mealies entirely. And sat outside on the porch and chilled in the sun.

    Do people really do this?

Ive made my share of mistakes. And I wont claim to be the one person who never did this ever. Like when I first got a set of Jackson chameleons. I paid close to $500 for their setup and them. Convinced myself misting with a spray bottle would be fine a couple times a day. A week later I realized...

FINALLY Sheldon & Groot get their meal!

So, the dubia person was running behind... And these guys weren't happy... So she threw in some very small meal worms. And I know they have very hard exoskeletons so not to feed those to them all the time. But boy... These guys put the dubia away... Each one put away at least 8-9 little dubia a...

    NO-NOS for 1mos old babies...??

Thank you. I had long forgotten most if not all of those rule of thumbs. The water dish ir relatively small and isn't all the way full. They are temporarily together. The breeder had a spare 20gal so I took advantage of the opportunity to get a pretty much free lamp, water dish, lid and tank...

And I started from maybe 300 about 3 years prior.. Granted I did add a few females and males to the...
