    Baby Beardie not eating

Sorry to hear you had to take him back. It's probably a case of failure to thrive. Unfortunately due to sloppy breeding practices, many young bearded dragons nowadays (especially those found in large chain pet stores) have faulty genetics and don't survive more than a few months.

    Baby Beardie not eating

Dubias are more filling than crickets (the standard insect for the 20-40 number you're getting), but I'd say that's probably still not enough. Do you switch him to a different enclosure for feeding? Also I think it might be helpful if you posted a pic of your enclosure. Just use the User Image...

Mercury vapor bulb 100 watt question

When is your t5 UVB due to arrive? Even with a lesser quality MVB, there should be no ill effects for up to week or so.

    Enclosure

Some bearded dragons appreciate change and will be more active after you "rearrange the furniture." Others will be stressed out by it. The only way to find out is to give it a try and then observe your beardie's behavior afterward.

    Dig box

Many people have had success with a 50/50 mixture of play sand and organic topsoil kept somewhat moist but nowhere near wet. In such a large enclosure, it shouldn't pose a significant humidity issue. The only caution I'd advise is to make sure you don't use a wood box for the soil, as the...

    Baby Beardie not eating

Your temperature gradient looks good, if a bit warm on the low end. What are you using to measure them? It's most likely a case of relocation stress. Don't handle him/her any more until they start eating regularly again, and moving your dragon to feed won't help.

Mercury vapor bulb 100 watt question

MVBs are strong enough that they can be safely placed over a screen without too much detriment to UVB output. Make sure to arrange the basking platform so that you're still getting the right basking temps with the new bulb.

OLD BEARDIE - PLEASE HELP :(

It could be age, but the first thing you want to do is get your beardie to a certified reptile veterinarian. Trembling, weight loss, and loss of appetite are concerning symptoms that need professional intervention. Meanwhile, can you please tell us about your bearded dragon's husbandry...

    Leopard Gecko UVB lighting

Because leopard geckos are a nocturnal species (unlike bearded dragons, which are diurnal), it is a commonly held belief that they don't "need" UVB to be healthy in captivity. And it's common practice not to provide UVB for leopard geckos. That being said, UVB is beneficial for just about any...

    Enclosure humidity is too low

As long as there's no stuck shed, your beardie should be fine even with humidity that low. The big thing you'll want to watch out for is dehydration. Soaking or misting salads can help your beardie ingest more water, as well as providing a water dish with a bubbler to draw attention to the...

Bearded drgon breathing through mouth, eyes sunk in

You would have to take your beardie to the vet for official diagnosis and antibiotics.

    Meet Ritz (worried first timer)

What are your temperatures like? (basking, warm, cool) Also, what do you use to measure temperatures? It looks like you're using a compact fluorescent UVB. These bulbs aren't bad, but they're not great either. Since the bulbs are so small they have a very limited range, which means that if your...

    Meet Ritz (worried first timer)

Some bearded dragons are more skittish/energetic than others, especially when they're young. Can you upload a picture of your enclosure? Just use the User Image Uploader tool at the top of the page.

Bearded drgon breathing through mouth, eyes sunk in

The sunken eyes can be a residual effect of the MBD, but mouth breathing may be a symptom of respiratory infection. Just to be sure though — does the mouth breathing only occur when she is basking, or do the nostrils appear blocked (shedding)?

Baby bearded dragon not eating much

Bearded dragons that young should be practically eating you out of house and home. Because they're growing very quickly at this time of life, they need a lot of food to fuel that growth. At 13 cm he's probably less than 2 months old, so he needs to be fed 2x/day with calcium dusted insects...

    Juvi handeling!

It's important to remember that bearded dragons are lizards, not dogs. It takes a long time for them to come to your hand for handling — if they ever do. Each also has its own personality, and some are more sociable than others. Try luring him to your hand with a treat like a hornworm or a...

    Parasites in dubias??

Probably a parasite. It's fairly common for feeder insects to carry parasites, especially when you buy them from unknown or less-than-reputable sources. Where did you get these?
