Our beardie and 2 new cats

Yeah I ended up covering half the glass with a blanket and cats are now in another room, guess it makes sense he feels threatened. Our beardie is in a wooden viviarium with glass doors, do you think covering half of the front with some type of material would be a good idea? I don't want to fully...

Our beardie and 2 new cats

Hi, We've just adopted two cats, and it's their first day here with us, however, our beardie is well aware we have 2 new additions to the household and he's not a happy boy! he's head bobbing, black beard, scratching at the glass, and hitting his face on the glass a bit which is a bit...

Hi AHBD, Do you know what an acceptable weight loss is during brumation? Ours weighed 426g and has maintained this weight since the vet checked him months ago, and todays weighing says he's now 410g, also have to take into account he had that poop last week so that must have weighed some:) I...

Active for the last 2 days - out of brumation? inc poo pic

Hi, Our beardie has been brumating since before nov, and has mainly been in his hide all that period apart from coming out for a bath when awake. Over the last few weeks he had ventured out the odd day to bask then had gone back into his hide. The last 2 days his been out of his hide and...

6-7+ Year old beardie | brumation

Thanks for the reply AHBD! I know the last owner did use the che with his old setup, I don't think his really brumated like this previously from what I'm aware of (well, last year he didn't when we adopted him). I would really like to be able to get him out atleast once per week as he still...

    What's wrong with my beardie

Is the clicking when he breaths or opens mouth? I may be incorrect but have read through many topics, clicking sound can be linked to a URI (upper respiratory infection), or to do with fluid / abdomen / lungs. best bet is to get him booked in at the vets, sounds like he needs a good checkup...

6-7+ Year old beardie | brumation

Hi, Our beardie seems to be brumating, I have gone through the setup etc. of viv and all seems to be good, repti sun 10.0 and 150w household basking bulb | temp around 100f give or take. He's been over on the cold side under his shaded log for a few weeks now, appears to be napping (doing...

Positioning of UVB tube and improvements

Could be an idea to cut a hole in roof but it was just a concern as you mention about becoming too hot/ignite etc. but I guess it's something I can look further into, only other thing I thought of was to find a fixing which could go onto the side and point down or finding a shorter bulb for in...

Positioning of UVB tube and improvements

Thanks for the reply AHBD. Do you think we need to buy a reflector for the tube as well? For the basking light it's a standard household bulb, there's no guard around. I would like to work on improving the basking spot area, I'm finding it difficult to find a solution, because the basking light...

Positioning of UVB tube and improvements

Hi! We upgraded our BD's vivarium a few months back to one which inside is roughly 46" length, 16" height and 23" depth. 1) He spends a lot of time towards the front of the viv. Should we move the tube forward? 2) The tube is a T8 36" Reptisun 10.0, should we have a reflector for this? 3)...

    Tiles and cleaning

I've found that tiles/ceramic/slate is easiest to deal with; re:cleaning, I use a Disinfectant for Reptiles,. Plus as others have said the tile option is good for their nails, whereas if you used vinyl it wouldn't have that benefit. Also I'd be a bit wary about stick on vinyl because of toxins...

Quick Question about Tube and new Viv..

Hi! I have bought a new viv today which the size is: Length x depth x height: 115cm x 61cm x 43mm (45" x 24" x 17") - not yet setup, he's still in his old viv. Question is, will the 24" UVB reptisun 10 tube from his old viv be enough for this new Viv? Thanks

Some advice please, with lack of motivation and appetite

    on here: http://www.arcadia-aquatic.com/ultra-seal-t8-controller/ Code ACU18 ACU30 We have the ACU30 - The repti glo was a 30"/25w, and the repti sun is a 24" / 18w.
