    Bearded dragons and cats?

You can get good enclosures that have locking mechanisms to keep the cats out. Not sure if it's something that cats could figure out though. A screen top won't be that big of a deal as long as the cats can't get a way to lift it up, like if there's not any bookshelfs or anything that would...

    Seasonal Lighting

I don't think it's a huge issue at all for them. Somethings aren't that important to replicate for beardies.

Help mounting basking light inside glass viv

Well for the UVB, looks like you have an under cabinet fixture. Depending on how tight the screen mesh is. The hardware that's supposed to go in the cabinet might work with little modification to the screen top (Just have to put the screws through the mesh). As for the rest. How is that tiny...

Custom Building An Terrarium for my buddy Smaug

Alright so I have an update of the current build. Unfortunately the cage isn't going to be appropriate for a bearded dragon. I am probably going to try to use it for some geckos instead. I am still going to update this thread however for anyone curious about it. First up is the side wall...

    Tile

I bought mine almost 2 years ago. But this is the closest thing I could find that should be similar. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Daltile-Continental-Slate-Tuscan-Blue-6-in-x-6-in-Porcelain-Floor-and-Wall-Tile-11-sq-ft-case-CS56661P6/202623250 Pretty sure the 18 6x6" tiles I have was under $30...

Custom Building An Terrarium for my buddy Smaug

Not too much progress today, but there is a short update anyway on the journey. I added the 2nd level to the castle as well as some nice arches for the entry ways. Last image is again everything in the cage. You can see I trimmed down the stairs quite a bit to make it a better fit! They...

    Tank size for babies

Not sure the best way for baby beardies but I bought a book shelf "space saver" and put floor tile on it for my adult beardie so he can get close enough to the basking spot and the UVB lights. It creates a nice 2nd level and was pretty easy to do. This is basically what I have, although mine...

    Tank size for babies

maybe just put a platform that is easier for them to climb so it's easy to get to their UVB.

Baby Beardie prefers veggies over insects?

Good chance if you only had him for 3 days that he is still going through a little relocation stress. Sometimes they show it in various ways. Quite possible he will want the crickets and bugs more than greens in a week or two. Although my adult bearded dragon absolutely love greens and will...

    enclosure.

I would think as long as the temperature gradient is good from the sides to the middle having to basking spots would be just fine. Although maybe your beardie thinks he's on another planet now with 2 suns lol.

    Slate Tile Questions

Depending on the size of your cage, you might not even need to get the tile cut at all. My 40 gallon cage is 36x18. I bought 18 6" tiles and they fit in pretty good. I like the smaller tiles because they are easier to remove and clean poop off of.

What Can I Use Instead Of Sand??

I have slate tile in my enclosure. It looks really good and is pretty easy to clean. I use 6" tiles so it's really easy to clean. When he poops all you have to do is take the 1 (maybe 2) tiles out and clean it off. The even better part is, his nails are filed down naturally so I don't get...

Custom Building An Terrarium for my buddy Smaug

Alright, I have continued to build this project today. Didn't get too much accomplished as building the stairs was pretty hard. Even with liquid nails it was hard to build it and keep it together. Here's another batch of pics of the build. First up, I have glued the main body of the castle...

Custom Building An Terrarium for my buddy Smaug

So after watching some of the awesome videos from Lizard Landscapes and getting a new 40 gallon tank this week. I have decided to upgrade my Dragons enclosure and make it really awesome. So I am going to make a rock wall with a castle sticking out of it. This thread will be more of a day by...

    Fattening up an underweight beardie?

Hello all, I recently adopted a pretty healthy adult beardie (can see him in my sig). However he currently weighs about 220 grams and he's about 20" long. From searching around I've read that he should be in the 400 gram range and am curious what the best way is to get him the extra weight...

Got a new beardie off craigslist.

I dunno if it counts as a rescue or not, but I adopted a beautiful adult beardie off craigslist last week. He was being kept in a 20 gallon long tank without a UVB bulb. It didn't take him too long to get used to his new viv, a 40 gallon breeder with proper reptisun uvb bulbs. He's a full...

Hello, new beardie hitting the blocks.

Sadly it seems that I got a defective animal from petsmart. After 2 weeks of trying to get him to eat with little success, this little guy has died on me :(. At most he would only eat a couple crickets at a time for the first couple days and then he stopped and he struggled to continue eating...

Beardie's fall asleep every which way,I want pics!

I don't know how he did it, but my baby beardie decided to sleep on the wire for my digital temperature probe. I seriously don't know how he didn't knock the wire off his basking spot. But it makes for a cute picture!
