sounds to me like sever mouth rot you should promptly find an exotic vet that does know what to do. Ive heard that if it gets sever the need surgery so that might be your solution.

How do you even get a holgen light to work in a bearded dragon tank I dont even know where to buy a lamp and how to set theses things up for a basking spot. Actually, would you post a pic so I can have an idea.

Yeah I thought the 40 gallon would make it better as for the 75 watt If I use that his basking spot only gets to 80 F but that has a lot to do with where you live so It must be warmer where you are cause my basking spot is about 105 F. :)

20 gallon tank with small cave that his gets on top of for basking spot 24 inch reptisun 10.0 UVB 100W exoterra basking bulb with a reptile rug as susbstrait. Basking spot is currently 105 degrees F, hot side is about 95 F cool side is 80 F some times 70 F he sleeps from 8 PM to 8 AM humidity...

I will be buying a 40 gallon from my friend soon as the adult enclosure. I'm going customize this one for start I want a real substrate instead of a reptile rug. I was thinking coconut fiber for a substrate will that do? Give your suggestions. also tile is not an option and I refuse to use sand.

the reptisun is about 7 inches from the basking spot and is inside the tank also that's the closest I can get it. I also managed to get his basking spot down to 105 by moving the light to the left of the basking spot. A bit closer to the cool side but the cool side stays less than 85 degrees...

yep its a reptisun as for the thermometer its a probe. I just sometimes place it on the basking spot.

Im pretty sure its a reptisun 10.0.

So my 9 month old buddy spud has been in his cave more that his basking spot and by that I mean he is sleeping whenever he is in his terrarium. The breeder I bought him from said it was lack of UVB because of coil UVB bulb. so I got a florescent UVB light yesterday. So now he has been less tired...

yes, my mother said something about a mercury vapor bulb how`s that sound. And also I contacted a completely different breeder who offered me a 9 month old yellow Citrus with a tail nip I have already seen him in person and should be picking him up tomorrow or the day after.

I have the right equipment the deaths were not caused due to equipment. it was obvious this one was too young.
