    Eddie Lizard...

This is probably my favorite pic... I'm eating a salad, and this is the look I get. Right after I took this one, he tried (unsuccessfully) to eat my camera, which is green, like most of his food... he did get my finger, though - his aim is off.

    Eddie Lizard...

Eddie Lizard... that's what my husband came up with... Anyways, we *KNOW* he is a he now, thanks to the wonderful pictures shared on this site. Eddie isn't 100% eating on his own (he gets super frustrated after the 5th try to catch a Phoenix worm...and those greens are FAST), but...

Because I'm a sucker for special needs critters...

So... our little guy is finally eating Phoenix worms and greens on his own. Mustard greens are his favorite, but turnip, collards, and dandelion are acceptable. Fruit is right out, and pellets are for pooping on... He's about 9 inches now, a good 3 1/4 inches bigger than when we got...

My beardie won't eat... anything that isn't hand fed.

Part of me thinks that maybe he doesn't recognize anything but the syringe or (after a ton of work) the tweezers as a source of food. The other part of me thinks that he HAD to have had eaten some live food at some point before coming into the pet store... and there's something wrong. I've...

My beardie won't eat... anything that isn't hand fed.

So, we rescued Eddie about a month ago and decided that we're going to keep him. He had been fed Fluker's Reptiboost/Reptiaid and kept in a cold room with inadequate heating (but he did have proper UVB). I shuffled around everyone else's UVB/heat set-ups to give the little dragon the...

Because I'm a sucker for special needs critters...

He is finally eating solid phoenix worms, but I still have to toss 'em in this mouth... I have a tray that I put in his cage to let him *TRY* to catch his own worms, but he just closes his eyes when they get too close to him (or he runs away). :banghead: He hasn't really been into the...

    Shedding!! (Our rescue beardie)

Our little guy is shedding!! And eating!! OK, still eating from a syringe, but he IS eating!! :blob8: So, from what we can gather (from paperwork, etc.), our little buddy is about 3 months old. From snout to the tip of his tail, he measures about 6 inches... his growth is pretty stunted...

Because I'm a sucker for special needs critters...

Oh, I think my husband already changed his mind. It seems all critters that set foot in this house are pretty good at being too cute - holding on to your finger, giving the "aren't I cute?" look... That's how we got the birds and the tortoise. The cat was the only "planned" baby. :lol...

Because I'm a sucker for special needs critters...

So, I didn't get a before photo, because TBH, I didn't think this guy was going to make it. He had been surviving entirely on Flukers Reptiboost. I think he may have a shot now... and with the help of a couple of vets, he isn't going to go because of something I SHOULD have done but neglected...

Not sure what else to do!!

Yeah, I've left a few worms in the cage with him (I call everything a "him" 'til they lay an egg  ). I chose a natural colored dish, nothing bright - I don't know if it affects the beardies, but my birds won't eat out of bright colored dishes (especially not purple). I have quite a few...

Not sure what else to do!!

I've also been trying to put a drop of the yummy A/D food on a phoenix worm... then let that flail around in his dish. It does catch his eye, but I'm not sure if that look is interest or terror. :banghead: I figure if he tries to lap that stuff off of the syringe, maybe he'll try to lap it...

Not sure what else to do!!

So, I guess I have a beardie... Sorry for this long post... but it has been a LONG week. A little history: I got moved to a new location for work. The first thing I was shown was a little TINY beardie that was eating nothing but Fluker's Repti Boost/Repti Aid. OK... Judging by the size, I...
