Dubia "smell" and allergies. Health concerns?

Well, I don't have mold now because I transferred them. There is good ventilation for this bin and hardly any frass yet. I came home late last night from work and thought I could still smell a faint earthy scent in my room, but I was thinking about it when I opened my door, so I'm not sure if...

Dubia "smell" and allergies. Health concerns?

Hey folks! So, I used to have two fairly small bins for my roaches (breeders and feeders), but I started to have mold issues in one bin from excess moisture (not enough ventilation). I transferred them all to a 64 qt tub and of course, they have that earthy frass smell. I'm in a small...

    Overly stuffed or possible impaction?

I tried blueberries and mustard greens, but he still isn't in to veggies. Luckily, he finally had a normal (and large) poop yesterday. I think I just let him get too stuffed. He is also in shed on his head, so his system is probably working a little slow too. Thanks for the reply though!! :D

    Overly stuffed or possible impaction?

Hey Y'all. Atlas is five months today! Woot woot. So, yesterday, I gave the fella a good soak and of course his tummy was a little water bound as usual. I then stopped by PetSmart and picked up some of the large crickets. I have been feeding the small crickets, but he was eating at least a...

Small dragon and not eating greens

Hey y'all! So, I bought a 4 month old baby boy from Lynn over at Carolina Designer Dragons (well, from her at Repticon). Anyway, I've had him for a little over a week now and he has yet to take in any greens! It's more annoying than anything because he is still young, so I'm not too worried...

    Feeder roaches smelling?

Okay, thanks. I noticed a dead adult male the other day, but my tub is cramped and I couldn't get my hand to him. I'm just gonna buy a longer tub. I think the problem is the cramped space and there is moisture building up from my water gels. The food is right next to it and so there is lots of...

    Feeder roaches smelling?

Okay, thanks. I changed out the water crystals yesterday and there was a clump of frass stuck to the bottom, so there is definitely wet poop in there. I will deep clean the tub tomorrow and see if it helps. I jut bought the colony and some of the adults have died already! Haha

    Feeder roaches smelling?

Is it normal for a small colony of roaches to have a bad, almost moldy smell to them? The colony is new (ordered from dubideli.com) and there is no actual mold, but I am worried there may be an illness in the colony!! It smells nasty and is even seeping into my living room lol

***EMERGENCY*** Beardie got too cold, not responding!

I wanted to have a necropsy done, but my parents said it was too expensive for what it would get me, so I went ahead and had him cremated. She also mentioned me possibly rolling on him. Him slept in my bed regularly and he was always left near my head, so it is possible, but I don't know how...

***EMERGENCY*** Beardie got too cold, not responding!

He became unresponsive and I took him to the vet where we decided to have him euthanized. She believes there was something silently going wrong with him and says it was not him being too cold like I suspected. He was only three. RIP buddy.

***EMERGENCY*** Beardie got too cold, not responding!

Irwin was in bed with me last night and it was fine when we went to bed, but I woke up this morning and it was freezing!! He moved by crawling up under the covers, but when I finally got up and picked him up, he was limp. I rushed him to his cage to warm him up and I felt what seemed like a tiny...

DIY Housing Door and Lighting Questions

That's a good idea, but a bit over my head. I'm gonna bug my dad until he agrees to help with it! My biggest concern with inside lighting is the increased risk of a fire gazed. I am just paranoid like that! And I am hoping any long fixture can be used for the t8 because the zoomed ones are crazy...

DIY Housing Door and Lighting Questions

Try to keep it short: I'm gonna upgrade my boy from a 40 gal breeder to a 4x2x2. I don't like the usual sliding doors because of how they overlap and have that weird spot down the middle. Has anyone used the swivel magnetic glass doors on their vivs? Seems like the easiest thing to do to keep...

How to build a custom enclosure?

Hey Y'all, I am planning to get my first reptile and I was going to buy a 70 Gal tank with some extras for $125, but my dad said he could build me an enclosure for cheaper . . . don't know how, but OKAY! Anywho, I am in college and living in an apartment. I know it should be around 4X2X2 and...
