could my He be a She?(Extra Photos)

Belladonnamini, My beardie is 3 1/2 and we've thought she was a male because she hadn't laid eggs yet - even the breeder couldn't tell for sure (femoral pores not obvious) and said we'd have to have the vet sex him/her. Well in February she stopped eating her normal amount and was extra active...

    Multiple Infertile Layings

Hi, I came home yesterday to find my girl laying clutch #3 since February. She's my first and only dragon and is 3 1/2 yrs old. I did not expect the first one, did expect the second because then I started learning more and did not expect yesterday's! As of this morning it was up to 15...

Female preparing to lay - questions about lay box

Yes it is possible but not usual. I've read on here a couple experienced owners say they have had it happen as young as 8 months but it is rare.

Female preparing to lay - questions about lay box

Hi, I've read the tutorial here and some other posts because the last 3 days my beardie (11 months) has started acting exactly as described for pre-egg laying behavior. I think she may have been triggered to cycle her eggs because the week before last she had a vacation with her original...

    Phoenix Worms

Librarylady, You don't need to put in any of the media that they come packed in. If you ordered from phoenixworms.com, they have a Q&A section that gives a few ways of getting the material off the worms but if the beardie ingests some particles, it won't hurt him. I've left them in the food...

    Phoenix worm questions

Sorry, it's http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutritionframeset.html (.com, not .org) This is pretty much the "go to" nutritional guidance that everyone on this site uses and recommends, including the most experienced owners. Jennifer

    Phoenix worm questions

I trust beautifuldragons.org and it lists Kale as occasional... I have interpreted that as once or twice a week but not a daily staple. (Those foods are listed in color green). Kale is high in Vit A so as an every day item it might be too much.

How to know they are eating enough

Hi, I'm sorry for your loss, especially your son. It's possible that he was just not healthy when you bought him and it caught up with him. That's the tough thing about buying dragons (any reptile) from a pet store vs an experienced breeder. Don't give up, I've had mine about 2 1/2 months and...

    not eating much

Don't get discouraged, just keeping checking with everyone on here they are soooo helpful. I got my first in mid-January and he was just over 4 months old then. I had done a lot of research and it was still nerve wracking but now we're in a routine that's not bad at all. Especially once the...

    Phoenix worm questions

Hi, I started my 6 1/2 month old on Phoenix worms little over a month ago. He had been on small small superworms and crickets until then. I've read and been told by the company that sells the Phoenix worms that the substrate is not harmful to the beardie. I take them out one by one and tap...

You know your a beardie slave when…

LOL love this list!!! I second all that and.... *scold my daughter for being too loud in her room with her friends because it might upset the beardie *Watch the clock wherever I am in the house for the minute I know his lights are going off and wonder if he's tucked away in his hide *rush in...

There will be no sleep for us tonight!!

So excited for you!!! We got our first beardie a couple months ago....I spend more time thinking about him now when I'm at work than anything else! (did he eat his veggies? is he basking right now? what should I buy him at the grocery store on the way home today? did he poop?) It's tiring...

    Poo

Hi Mumtozeus, I have a 6 1/2 month and got him at 4 months - I have to tell you that I've already noticed a pattern when he is getting ready to shed his head and body (tail and legs come couple weeks after that). For the few days right before, he acts mopey, goes into his hide earlier at night...

So my little girl just pooed..

My 6 month old has been eating medium phoenix worms for over a month now and just last Friday she poo'd and it had undigested worms and worm pieces, I thought it was because she was on medicine for parasites, that maybe it affected her digestion but I was told on here that it's not unusual with...
