    Sunken Eyes on new baby

She has always eaten like a champ and is growing like a weed. Her basking light is not bright white. It gives off a yellow hue. I currently do not have any tank pictures, i am at work or else I'd take one.

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

It is mounted. I've tried keeping her UVB off, but she still closes her eyes. She has been closing her eyes since I got her, so it must have been something the breeder did.

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

Yeah I've seen a few babies closing their eyes. Her UVB light is at the top back wall of the tank inside, and the basking light is on top of the cage. She sits 5 and a half inches away from her UVB and 5 inches away from her basking IF she goes to the top, which she usually doesn't. She stays in...

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

Thank you :) Well she came to me with the eye problem, all the babies I picked her out from had been closing their eyes. Her basking bulb is a Zoo Med 75 watt. It's not colored, not a daytime, just a basking. Her UVB is a 10.0 Reptisun tube on an under cabinet fixture inside the tank sitting...

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

Nah, she's not tired all the time. She just closes one or the other eye all the time. Her perkiness is a lot better from when we brought her home. She moves around normally now then she did when she first came home. It seems like it's Photo kerato conjunctivitis.

    Thinking about a Bearded Dragon...

Having a bearded dragon is amazing. I just got my first one in August, and I had to get another one! They are so sweet and seriously the perfect pet for me. They love attention, and one of mine loves to snuggle and sleep with me. The other one not so much yet, he's a hormonal teen right now lol.

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

In the pictures its hard to capture exactly what her eyes look like. But she constantly closes them and are super dull. She only has them wide open because of the flash, but usually they are like tired looking eyes.

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

My other dragon's eye are a lot more vibrant and noticeable, hers are sunken in looking and dull. She does close them a lot as well. For thermometers I use a temp gun for the basking area, and a digital with probe for the ambient. Her basking bulb is a Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp 75 watt. It...

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

Tank is a 20 long with a 10.0 Reptisun UVB tube on an under cabinet fixture inside the tank, basking spot surface temp is around 100-102 degrees, ambient temp is mid 80's. She eats dubia roaches and crickets. She is a bit underweight so an occasional waxworm. I will post a picture as soon as I can.

    Sunken Eyes on new baby

I got a 6 inch baby exactly 6 days ago from a reptile show, and since day one her eyes have been sunken in and on top of that, she always closes them. I tried turning her UVB off for a couple days and saw no improvements in the eye closing, and I also have been giving her pedialyte baths and...

    Droopy eye sockets

I was reading droopy eyelids can be kidney failure. Sunken eyes are usually dehydration. I was researching this because my new bearded has sunken eyes, and I can't tell if they are droopy or not :(

    Photo-kerato-conjunctivitis?

I will try that feeding thing when I get home from work. She is fed roaches and crickets and she is pretty fast at chasing them. She closes her eyes more when you hold her. Sometimes just one eye. She has stress marks until you hold her, then they fade some. Her UVB is a 10.0 Reptisun tube. I...

    Photo-kerato-conjunctivitis?

Lol no it was not on her actual eyeball, it was on her lids, and so I put warm water on it and used a q-tip and it slid right off. I will take her to a vet, but I also would like to know of ways to try and treat it at home first. Are there anyways I could?

    Photo-kerato-conjunctivitis?

Well I got her two days ago so I'm not sure when it started. Her substrate is paper towel, her tank is a 20 long. I have her UVB off for now to see if her eyes fix, but so far she still keeps closing them. Her UVB is just under the tank lid inside her enclosure on an under cabinet light fixture...

Is it okay to use a 24" Reptisun 10.0 tube in a 20 long?

Oh, I didn't know that. I put mine in the middle. I will have to fix that for him.
