    Yellow fungus?

Whew! Thank you guys so much. That is very reassuring, after seeing cases of yellow fungus in person and seeing what it can do to a beardie I am a little paranoid. Lol. And I'm glad my setup gets your seal of approval Tracie - I work hard to make sure my little man is healthy. :) While I'm at...

    Yellow fungus?

Hello everyone, I am more of a lurker on this forum so I don't think any of you know me, but my beardie Majora is having an issue and I want to get some quick opinions in case I need to take preventative measures quickly. I work in a pet store and I have seen a few cases of yellow fungus and...

    Costs

Call and check your local pet stores too. I don't know about other stores but at Petco we will take in any unwanted animals and adopt them out, usually with cage/tank and all the accessories. We get beardies dropped off pretty often.

why is my mam scared of my bearded dragon

My mom is terrified of my beardie. I don't live at home so it isn't such a big deal, but I do bring him down when I visit. She is okay with me bringing him as long as he stays in the basement. They turn the heat up for him and he stays in a big rubbermaid bin with a clamp lamp and all his cage...

PetSmart: Two visits; two dead dragons

^I work at a Petco, and it's sort of the same thing for us. They send us babies way too small to be sold and there's nothing we can do about it. If we get really tiny babies in we keep them in the back for a few weeks until they get bigger. We monitor them to make sure they're healthy and eating...

Sick? Brumation? Newbie needs help with recent rescue!

Not eating much is normal during brumation but all the other symptoms you mentioned - black bearding, vomiting, etc - are not. It sounds like he isn't feeling well and needs a trip to the vet. He may have a parasite or another issue.

Found bearded dragon, looks severely injured.....HELP

It's also not a great idea to breed an animal whose history you don't know. If you don't know anything about the beardie's family history you don't know what kind of potential health issues it has or may pass on to offspring. If you really do decide you want to breed it would be wiser to get...

did you buy your beardy from petco? if yes please answer

Mine came from the Petco store I work at, and he is currently 6 1/2 months old and 19 inches long nose to tail tip. He is definitely bigger than most his age. I always feed him as much as he wants to eat and he has a great appetite. If you support them properly they will grow.

New tank - everything look okay?

The poster above me seems to have answered all your questions, but I noticed you're using that fake tree limb from Petsmart - I had the same one and my beardie absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it's got tiny holes in the bottom and crickets kept climbing up in it and it was impossible to get...

    Renting a house with dragons?

I live in an apartment complex with very specific pet policies... including no reptiles. However no one ever comes into the apartment for any reason and they don't know I have them, so I've never gotten in trouble for having my beardie and corn snake. Our last neighbor had a ball python and our...

Does anyone's bd have painted on eye lashes?

Majora has them, but they're only really noticeable when his coloring is light. When he's dark to absorb the sun you can't see them very well.

How did you name your beardie?

I named my beardie Majora, from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It's my favorite video game of all time and one I've beaten many times over. When I first looked at him from above, the shape of his head reminded me of the shape of Majora's mask. I kept trying to think of other names but in my...

Beardie scratching glass for no reason??

I had a hard time figuring out why Majora was glass dancing at first. Now it's always one of two things - He has to poop. He'll only poop in the tub and hates to poop in his tank, so he glass dances around 1 or 2pm every day to come out and take a poop. If I'm not home he can usually hold it...

    Big Belly...Too Big?

My guy is exactly the same. His belly gets really big and almost drags on the ground right after he's done eating, but after he's basked and digested and pooped it's back to normal size. I thought it was weird at first too, haha.

Beardie had a scare, anything I can do?

Hey everyone - Majora has been doing incredibly well, growing a ton, he's just about 5 months and 15 inches long. He's a big boy, I guess. Anyway, yesterday my boyfriend's family visited us from out of state and I had no idea they were bringing their three dogs with them. I love the dogs, but...

    How much have you invested???

I got Majora the first week of June and I've spent upwards of $600 already. And that's with my discount, since I work at Petco and get most of my stuff there. Unfortunately we don't sell Reptisuns and some other essentials so I did have to go to Petsmart, Wal-mart, etc for a few things. I pretty...

    (another) Lighting question

I don't know about safety, but I know I was going to get a Zoo Med Powersun MVB until I saw this thread on another forum - http://www.herpcenter.com/habitat-lighting/42625-zoo-med-powersun-mvb.html basically several different people have been testing the UVB output of their Powersuns and...

$1/gallon petco sale does not include reptile tanks...

And if they don't have any in the back (I know my store only ordered three for the sale and two were bought by employees - one being me, lol) ask them to order one for you. Make sure you ask them for a rain check for the sale price in case it doesn't get there before the sale ends. But if you...

Dilema with existing enclosure FEEDBACK please

Is it a compact/coil UVB or a tube UVB? I can't tell from the picture. Even the Reptisun compacts are not the greatest and I've heard of them causing eye problems.
