Cricket feeders, important info. Please Read!

Come to think of it I would throw a couple of small super worms and wax worms in with the crickets also, they were kind of cannibals so I gave them something else to nibble on that was moving. They loved the wax worms. U

Cricket feeders, important info. Please Read!

Feed squash carrots greens, only some potato. Soak carrots and dryer veg in water a bit. Cricket food formulated for crickets is ok but fresh veg every few days is ideal for staple. Sugar snap peas they like also. Zucchini is another good one. I always found the potato rotted to quickly anyhow.

    Homemade Basking Loft

Suzan-I'm not sure about that. I know you can add sanded grout over non sanded if you wish or vs. I also have been mixing the 2 on some platforms since I don't care for the really sandy feel and I am sure the dragons would like it less abrasive. Who knows. Going by my thoughts here. They seem...

    Homemade Basking Loft

Another thing to remember on grouting these. The grout seems to soak up more heat. So my first spot checks with the temps are reading a bit higher now after I put the finished product in the viv. I have had to move around the light a bit. After cutting the foam, temps were reading good. After...

    Homemade Basking Loft

Your creation looks great. Make sure you put a bit of extra grout on that back support joint. From the picture I can't really tell how it's attached. Other then that looks really good to me. Should hold up for years. Coat thin, all coats. Or you may experience cracking. I had to split my...

    Homemade Basking Loft

Your welcome! I have been having fun when I have "off time", so it's been taking me longer. That's ok. Everything will be well cured in between coats. Lol

    Homemade Basking Loft

Sounds about right to me. However I don't have to most mine since there is so much humidity in the air here and the grout I use is really runny. Doesn't hurt though. I never mix mine thick or put it on to thick I between coats . I was told you will have cracks for sure. I can't wait to get my...

    Grout Sealer?

For grouting projects, I have been suggested by others to use: 511 H2O+water-base sealer, by Miracle company. Or Polyvine dead flat finish varnish ( I had to order online) suggested to use by Becky Wheeler on youtube.com. She makes a ton of things and uses this. No odor.

Building DIY Fake Rocks - Help!

I have been making these for a few months now with no probolems, taking in everyones opinions. I do find that thining out the grout very thin, and applying several coats, curing in between, has been the best technique. No cracking, very strong. If you would like to ask me particular...

    need some answers

I would personally only use a sealer, specific for grout, non toxic, heat resistant.

    Homemade Basking Loft

I am making a truck load of grouted platforms now. Trick to getting the grout to not crack=several very thin coats, like about 4-5, but mixing the grout until it's pretty runny is what I have been doing, and let each cure at LEAST 24-48 hours, 48 is better in between applications. Mine are...

    DUBIAS HAVENT BEEN SHIPPED

However much it costs. I would give some dubias away at this point. I'm in Minnesota (55724) so I guess if you want to figure out shipping and handling costs somehow, I would ship them out after you sent me the s & h. You have nothing to loose except the s $ h. Dubias free. I have a bunch of...

    Dubia Temps

When the temps are cooler out, I put a very small aq heat pad, on the side where their hiding crates are, not the bottem. I think that's to hot, in my opinion. As soon as I did this, I saw multiple babies every few days. I put squash, carrot, cellery soaked in water, plain cherios (which they...

what are my options???? please help with cricket situation

I would ditch the crickets, like I did..to much hassle, dead loss, expense, stink, etc. I bought a batch of superworms from a website that is reputable for selling live feeders suggested from my good friend Ann, and I have to say, NO stink! Besides the fact I have to put more substrate in there...
