    Ate a flower

If you do decide to try the activated charcoal, beardeddragon.co sells a solution at a concentration of 125mg/mL, so you could aim for a similar concentration. Then give 0.4cc to 0.8cc per 100g of body weight. (eg. 1.4 - 2.8 cc for a 350g lizard)

    Ate a flower

The two toxins in begonias are calcium oxalates and cucurbitacin B. From what I have read, activated charcoal can be used to treat cucurbitacin B poisoning, but it is not recommended for oxalate ingestion. Everything I have read says do not induce vomiting and do not give charcoal for plant...

    Ate a flower

Begonias are generally considered to be toxic. This website has a lot of great information: http://www.pawsdogdaycare.com/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants/begonia The site mentions: - the underground portions are the most toxic - "the toxin amount is relatively low, so potentially life-threatening...

    Serrapeptase and pneumonia

Serrapeptase is often recommended for bearded dragons with respiratory infections due to its ability to reduce pain, reduce inflammation, thin mucus, increase antibiotic activity at site of infection, etc. BUT there have been documented cases in humans where serrapeptase has actually caused...

2-3 month old Beardy black hard spot on beard

He is very cute! :) I agree that it looks like it could have been from a wound or a bite. Are his roaches left in the tank, or do you remove any that he doesn't eat? I agree that he seems quite small and is not eating as much as he should. This may be due to the lower basking temperatures...

    Elderberry Extract?

Has anyone ever fed their bearded dragon elderberry extract? I understand that the plant is toxic (to humans as well), but what about the (human-safe) elderberry extracts? This extract is generally consumed for its high levels of antioxidants and anti-viral properties. A study...

Hey sorry again... Yes Belle is our tegu, the vet probed her and is pretty sure she's a female, but says she has been wrong before lol She's all finished the meds now so we'll be taking another fecal test in soon to be sure the "parasites" are gone. No actually, Belle's prolapse is much much...

Ah it has been so long!! Sorry I've been so busy with midterm exams and reptiles! We dropped a fecal sample off at the vet last week for Belle just to make sure parasites didn't have to do with the "prolapse." The vet called today and the lab found some Blastocystis and Entamoeba and it isn't...

Okay so just got back from the vet! She said our tegu looks very plump and healthy so that's good :) As for the "prolapse," she doesn't think it's really a full-on prolapse at all, just irritated tissue around the vent. She said it looks like she may have prolapsed at one point then went back...
