    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Hi, Sorry I have not replied, I came down with flu over the weekend and am still quite ill. Izzy and myself are under the care of my boyfriend and mum right now. I have been told izzy is still eating well, I've had minimal contact with him over the past few days so I've not been able to monitor...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

I know, I'm worried with the baytril as the first two weeks made him quite a lot worse, and everything I've read says it's quite hard on them, however the vet thinks it is light and doesn't seem too bothered about how long he is on it for. Ok, I just wanted a rough estimate so I can make sure I...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Right ok, I will make another appointment with the vet then. He suggested taking a fecal sample but never mentioned a mouth culture. Are they expensive to have done? Not that I won't pay it out, of course I will if it has a chance of helping izzy, just money's a bit tight at the moment and I...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Drache613 yeah? I've sent her a message so I hope that's the right person :) I am the worst for panicking! Especially about my lizards. It's just he started being treated over a month ago, so he should be getting better :( Thankyou for your support!

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Ok, so I really don't know what to do! Izzy has come to the end of the two weeks of the second round of baytril. He has got better in some ways, he's eating well and is lively enough (head bobbing at my other lizard while he was exploring). However he is still so dark, his nostrils are still...

"A certain British pet store chain" selling reptiles...

I bought one of my beardies, Zooki, from Pets At Home. I was just in there having a browse of their (very small) reptile supply stock and saw him in a very poop filled viv with two other regular dragons. He's a translucent and SO gorgeous, I fell in love right then. The man that I spoke to...

    Electricity usage

I do try to keep lights off where we don't need them, same with anything really. My boyfriend has found someone to take his turtles, which have numerous bulbs, filters and heaters and may be the culprit for the excessive usage. So we will find out if it drops from now on :) if not I'm going to...

    Electricity usage

Oh! Yes I think I understand now. Sorry this kind of stuff really confuses me :) so the stats don't use much more than the 100W from the bulb they are powering? That's good, that would mean my beardies are costing about £20 per month. Though there must be something else using electric up. At...

    Electricity usage

Hi, Our electricity bill has been coming in quite high lately, and us having eight reptiles in the house is probably the reason! It is getting too much for us unfortunately, at about £200 per month. My boyfriend's solution is to rehome his two sliders (who use a lot of electric what with water...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Ok, so Izzy has been on his second round of baytril for almost a week now. He's doing better this time! Still eating(ish) and still active, so I'm assuming that's due to the probiotics :D Anyway, this morning I found an extremely solid and kind of rubbery poop in his tank (nice topic I know...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Thankyou for that info, Izzy does sound quite similar to that actually. The vet did check his mouth but only quickly so if he doesn't seem to improve I will suggest he looks at his mouth more closely.

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

@Valerie - At the moment he is eating, though last time he stopped once I started giving him the baytril. I didn't know about the probiotics straight away though so he didn't have any for the first week :( so hopefully this time he will cope better :) got some acidophiliz on its way and I'll...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Well, the vet said today that he thinks it's possibly a URI :( so he's on baytril for another 2 weeks to see if that clears things up fully. His nostrils are still blocked, I am to clean his nose everyday to try and help clear it, but the vet is hoping for it to clear up on it's own. Thankyou...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Well I've had a couple of goes at cleaning it with a damp qtip. Doesn't seem to be reducing it any yet but his nostril does turn very white! So maybe it is just skin? Either way it seems very well stuck in there :( He doesn't seem to act bothered by it (he's not rubbing his face against things...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

I have noticed my other beardies (and Izzy before it was completely clogged) do that, however Izzy's is like it constantly. He could be keeping it closed in that one though I suppose (it does quite look like that), but his other nostril looks as though there is a little something stuck in there...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Ahh, now that's the kind of info I need :D I definitely don't want to wait, however I've not known what to suggest my vet do! I had no idea they could clear his nose though so I'll mention that when he goes back. I do believe it is a respiratory infection as his symptoms seem to fit, but vets...

    Blocked Nostril (Please help!)

Hi, I'm posting this in here as I got no reply about it in my last post (think it's my fault, should have put it in this forum). Anyway, my 5 year old BD Izzy has had a blocked nostril for quite a long time. At first I thought it was skin after reading a lot of posts about it, however it is...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

I have just read through all of this post. Had me in tears at one point! Leo is gorgeous, I wish you both all the best and hope his test results show something positive. He definitely seems like a great little guy, especially when it comes to feeding. I have to wrestle my guy to get him to eat...

    Worried

Well today there has been a slight improvement, this morning Izzy's beard was grey rather than jet black, lightest he's been all week! Although throughout the day he's changed from grey to black a few times. Hopefully this means the probiotic is having a bit of an affect and making him feel...
