    I Just LOVE Dewey!!!

I'm sorry that you are going through tough times in your life, and I suppose that this isn't really the best time to ask, but your thread title compels me too! I am new to this board and I've just recently found your pic thread of Dewey, and I have to say that he is about the most gorgeous...

Well, if I were a beardie breeder, I'd

Hi, Tracie- lol I wasn't trying to stir up anything  I can certainly appreciate the beauty of a Silkie or a Leatherback! And I wouldn't criticize anyone for wanting/owning one at all. Actually, I don't really prefer the wildly colored beardies, either. The richly patterned warm...

Well, if I were a beardie breeder, I'd

breed for larger spikes and MORE texture, rather than what I see now as being popular-- creating leatherbacks, silkies, etc. Yessir; I want my beardie to be bigger and spikier! :D

    Interesting info page

The information may be sound, but I'm afraid that she isn't much of a writer. A painful read, in fact. -John

Just Placed My First ReptiWorms™ Order

Allow me, if I may: Buy ReptiWorms™ here. Feed them like crickets, no need to dust because they are naturally high in calcium. But you can read all about them on the web site. HTH, John

    New Jersey

Soapstone sounds good, but my only concern would be if it is porous or not. If it were, you could try sealing it with a non-toxic sealant. -John

    New Jersey

Greetings! Yeah, jump all over that 40 gallon breeder tank for $40.00! It's nice because it's 18" wide. As far as substrate goes: I went to Lowes and bought two 18" tiles to put on the bottom. I didn't even know they made them that large! I had them trim them down to 17.5". Our beardies poop...

    New Jersey

Hello, Drew- I'm in south Jersey, about 40" from Marlton as well. We just adopted 2 beardies and I'm in the process of getting everything all set up for them. Just bought two 40B tanks from Petco today ($1 a gallon sale). Don't know of any good vets, but I'd bet Dale does...

    German Giant Origins?

To me, then, it just begs the question: "why aren't there more breeders in the US trying to breed GGs as they have been in Germany? Surely there is a market for LARGE, plain beardies here in the US, too. Curious. -John

    German Giant Origins?

You are lucky, DoubleJ. Mine are BIG poopers! And often, too! -John

    German Giant Origins?

I'm with you, Virus. Colors are nice and all, but I'd rather have a 3.5 "normal" beardie, than a smaller purple and green one. Besides, that's why god created Jeweled Lacertas! :D -John

    German Giant Origins?

Whoa! Seriously? Wow I find that hard to believe (about the size, not that you've never seen one live :) ) I would love to see some pictorial evidence of a 3 footer from someone here! A 3' beardie? That's just kewl! John

    German Giant Origins?

I'm new here, and I'm hearing about "German giants". As far as I can tell, they are beardies bred larger (in Germany:-) but that's about all I can find out. Can anyone elaborate further on their history or provide a linkie to one? TIA, John
