Too quick to grab this little guy! HELP

Interesting--thanks! :D I tucked a washcloth up under my shirt so it could "smell like me" as many have suggested and plan to use that to calm Sparky. How did you wrap her in it loosely without her escaping? Today I talked to Sparky while my hand was in the tank (about 6 inches away). Then I...

Too quick to grab this little guy! HELP

His tank/viv is on a stand, so he is at about 3-4 ft off the ground. When I try to pick him up I always try to come from the side or simply put my hand in front of him (about 6 inches away). I never come from behind of directly above since I have been told by many not to do that. What bugs do...

Can a tank (viv) be too big?

So, did the shirt trick work for you? That is my fear is the longer he goes without being held, the worse it'll get. I see lots of postings here about the same problem, but that doesn't make me feel much better. I was able to pet him today for a few strokes, but then he scurried away again...

Newbie needs help! Substrate, lights. etc.

Thanks for all the info! We will switch out the 5.0 UV for a 10.0 and my husband said he'd cut out part of the screen top so it is not blocking any of the rays from getting to him. He's definitely within 6-8 in. if he is dirctly below it so that's good. I am so afraid of being bitten, but am...

Too quick to grab this little guy! HELP

Ok, cool. Thanks! I am afraid we are doing something wrong and that if I can't hold him now, then it'll only get worse each day.

Newbie needs help! Substrate, lights. etc.

Okay, here's the scoop! Sparky is about 6 months old and about 8 in. (including tail of course) long. (1) I talked to the people at the pet store and they said to get the Calci-sand (but after reading here I know I need to switch -- probably will go with the ceramic or slate tile?) (2) We got...

Can a tank (viv) be too big?

I have a 5-6 month old beardie in a 50 gallon tank/viv. He is very difficult to pick up and handle (for the last two weeks now). This has been his home for about 5 weeks now so I am not sure what's going on. I was just wondering if it is possible to have a tank that is too big....I didn't...

Too quick to grab this little guy! HELP

Okay, so yesterday after talking softly to him and gently/calmy/slowly trying to pet him.....he finally let me pick him up. He was so squirmy at first I though he was going to get away. How frustrating! He calmed down in my hand and even layed relaxed on my chest for about 5-10 minutes. Now...

Too quick to grab this little guy! HELP

Too quick to grab this little guy! HELP

Our 5-6 month beardie is so quick that I can't grab him. We want to be sure to hold him and play each day, but he is getting so fast in his 50 gallon tank that I can't get him. Maybe I will try luring him with food? Not sure what my best options are at this point...
