When is a female mature enough to breed?

You guys are correct, but out of all 250 that hatched and were rehomed with small fee last year, all of them survived and all owners are happy. If the turn out would have been different I would have stopped and or will stop. I just feel that once the baby is thriving at my home, putting it in a...

When is a female mature enough to breed?

Its my second season to breed. Last time the female was my friends and she was 3 years old. I actually have a very nice size roach colony that supported these guys last time, 3 clutches 27 eggs each time. But i also only keep them for a week. Once they are eating i sell them for 10 dollars and...

When is a female mature enough to breed?

I know my girl isnt ready now. She is only 9 months old and 275 grams. I did get Sandy, my red leatherback, for the purposes of breeding and I am under the impression to wait till she is 2 years old. If she is mature enough at 1..if.. is it more dangerous at a younger age? Should i wait till...

ideas to help my avid digger in her new set up.

I see the bowl, but that is way to small for my speed racer digging, that bowl would be empty in 30 seconds. I will try the towel. I can try that now before we switch. I would love to make a deep bowl for her. like a quarter of the tank be a digging side or even half. just got to figure out...

    Day 89 still no hatching!!!!

i have cut one to early and he survived. (it was a egg that went very long and had went completely flat during incubation and i was sure was not good. oops) just treat him as a premature baby. It should be fine if you keep that shell moiste. if it drys on him it could damage his skin. I had that...

Male just chases female, Never actually breeds

my experience is I put my male in with the female and they mating with in 2 mins. just that one time produced eggs in 17 days and 3 clutches. she was 3 years old. I agree with separating them. you dont want them to be "friends"

so i am moving sandy to a 55 gallon. she is a avid digger. She is currently on a wood like bottom. This new tank i am not sure what to use. i want to cut down on the sound of her digging and maybe if i can satisfy this hunger for digging. She has been digging since she was born. It is driving me...
