    Superworms

I'm having somewhat the same problem.. I use oats for my bedding. And I had tons of tiny ones, but now it looks like I'm down to 25% of the original population. I really do think the big ones feed on the smaller ones. So I'm going to get a small extra container to throw the bigger ones...

    My Cricket Experience

I've never had a problem with the smell of crickets either. I just think if you simply keep up the hygiene of the container, then it's not a big deal. And I bred them so I've had plenty.

    Which carpet?

Oh yes that reminds me. The con of carpet is that it is also hard to clean. You have to remove all the objects in the tank just to take it out and clean thoroughly. But it worked well for when I used it. I now switched to tile.

    newb with tons of questions

    1. People have done this before; usually when the temps are too high, not humidity. However, I would imagine it would do the same thing. 2. Yes, Lowes and Home Depot's sell the florescent fixtures with various sizes. For a 6 foot cage, I think a fixture that holds a 48" UVB tube would be most...

    Which carpet?

I've used carpet for a very long time with no problems. People just worry that the "loops" could cause a dragon to get his nail or toe stuck and cause potential injury. But it is really not that dangerous. It'd be a freak accident. I think the turf would be a pain to clean too.

    Red Light

I've heard that red lights can cause eye problems and certain other issues. I would recommend switching to a white light. White light is always said to be the best. Are the temps and UVB all okay?

does the uvb lights has to be a certain distance ?

I believe a ReptiSUN 10.0 bulb says the rays reach around 20"... however the output is not as strong. So I believe most people say 6 - 10" is fine. Up to 6" away is best. Someone else might be able to give more information and advice. And a heat emitter does the same job, but some people say...

i need some suggestions on tanks

Hold off as long as you can while searching on craigslist. Great deals pop up if you look thoroughly. I ALWAYS search "enclosures" "reptiles" "reptile" "bearded dragon" "bearded dragons" "vivariums" "vivarium" "custom cage" etc. Every little letter (pluralizing) brings up a whole new search lol...

    thermometer with a probe?

This is what they are talking about. They are much more accurate than the dials and "stick on" ones. You can find these at petco or petsmart. http://www.petco.com/Assets/product_images/0/096316002326C.jpg Another one people use is by Acu-Rite.. I believe they sell them at Wal-Mart. All you do...

    Supplements Question!

Okay.. I thought I had it figured out, but now I'm confused as I've read different information.. Which supplements should we use and how often? If I have a ReptiSUN 10.0 UVB.. do I still need the calcium supplement WITH D3 or without? Because I know if you have a MVB bulb, you need 'without'...

Help - Odd poop - Pic

Thanks for the replies :) I figured it was due to dehydration. I don't think I bathed him enough, but now I do every other day. So I'm looking to see improvements. He appears healthy and is still smiling :D

    My new beardie won't eat!

It is called relocation stress and is very normal. He may not eat till up to a week. Just give him time to adjust and probably should not handle him right away either. Make sure all of your temps are good also. Offer food smaller than the size of his mouth, and don't pressure him. He should be...

    Baby crickets

Sounds good. Baby crickets need moisture so keep misting the dirt. But try not to get it too wet where they drown, or create condensation. This way you avoid both cricket death and mold. And put in paper towel tubes or egg cartons if you haven't already. It should be a few weeks before they are...

    Ordering Crickets

Option 3 sounds best to me as well. My crickets sit outside for most of the day until I get home to pick them up and rarely have any dead crickets. It's not as cold here though. But since they will be in-doors, I think they will be fine.

    finding food

I usually have to herd the crickets to my dragon as well because he only eats what he sees in front of him. If you leave him for a few minutes, I think he will go and start hunting himself. It always takes a few mins for my dragon to adjust going from his enclosure to a feeding tub. Try it at...

Help - Odd poop - Pic

So my BD hasn't been pooping lately as I mentioned in a few previous posts. But he's perfectly normal in his habits and eating. His temps are great and the UVB is working fine. Well anyway, after many days of warm baths, and now probably the longest bath of his life, he finally went. It wasn't...
