want to trade for some of my male Dubias? (Boston)

I have about 40 extra male Dubia roaches and would love to trade them for some females, nymphs, or even crickets. I live in Boston and would rather not ship them. Thanx, Alex

How many dubias do babys eat/How many females per colony?

I think one variable might be the size of the nymphs people are feeding. I would guess that allot of people are being cautious and feeding very small nymphs when they could be feeding ones that are a tad bit larger. Of course not exceeding the between the eye rules. I'm guessing that by mass and...

What should i clean my beardies rock with, after his poop,

Boiling the rock should kill any parasites and if you haven't already you might want to get a fecal exam. Hope that helps.

Where do you keep your colonies?

I was a little but it's not a realistic fear. nothing on my bed is touching the ground that they could possibly climb up and not to mention that it's nearly impossible for them to get out of the Rubbermaid container. It took a night or two to forget about it :?

    Lighting Costs

It would be the same as my 150watt heat lamp. Doesn't use more energy because it's an MVB. Just a different way of using that energy. Spot Heat Lamp 150 watt spot light/1000= .15 kW .15kW X 12 hours a day = 1.80kWh 19cets per kWh in Boston X 1.80kWh = $0.34/day

    Lighting Costs

I don't want to even start to calculate the total cost of keeping a BD annually with everything included. I'd much prefer remaining oblivious to the dent she's putting in my bank account.

How many dubias do babys eat/How many females per colony?

So I talked to Jason, TheRoachGuy. He says that 20 nymphs a day is about rite and that he suggests 100 females to to sustain a colony and feed a single dragon comfortably but guesses I can do it off 80. 50-60 to feed the dragon 20-30 to keep the colony going. Thanx again Jason...

How many dubias do babys eat/How many females per colony?

So I just sexed and counted out my colony to see where I am at. As of rite now I have 80 nymphs which I didn't bother sexing, 43 females, and 47 males. I separated the 43 females into a separate container with 10 males. The container has holes in the bottom which I hope the nymphs will leave out...

very interesting I was actually just going to post asking about Saphira's recent tendency to lick everything when outside her enclosure. Any references to where I can learn more about what they are able to process through these receptors?

    crix around the house

I read recently that sticky/glue tape around the floor along the walls works well. maybe for a big room a strong scented food they like in the middle of some sticky tape. Like a peeled orange maybe. Haven't actually done this but it could work :P

    Opening a box of crickets

I'm a new beardie member and until my Dubia colony gets going I have been faced with this same issue. I opened my first 1000 over the bath tub which worked ok but the loose ones were a pain gathering up and some got down the drain (1/4" crix) and started to crawl out later, will cover it next...
