    exotics store/ breeder?

Varalidaine, I would like to set the record straight. I NEVER told you that I have ADV positive breeders. In fact, if I had a dragon that tested positive for ADV, I would never breed it. What I told you, quite some time ago, was that I did indeed own a few dragons over the years that tested...

What are some physical key characteristics of a citrus tiger

Exactly ArielAnn! Citrus, yellow, lemon, amarillo, (whatever you want to call them :) ) tigers are awesome. Don't get caught up in the phenotype of the parents. Some tigers are minimal expression (very faint sidebars) but produce nice stuff.

What are some physical key characteristics of a citrus tiger

Citrus Tiger is a very expository label and as such conveys a lot of information about the dragons genetics. I do breed citrus (or yellow) dragons that are not tigers (they lack the blue sidebars) and I do breed citrus (or yellow) tigers that have the vivid blue sidebars and it is a genetic...

    Trans and Trans

Brandon... it is not the only way. A het. trans to a het. trans will produce some trans babies. I would argue that this method produces even better quality trans than a visible to a het.

What are some physical key characteristics of a citrus tiger

Seriously Brandon...." a shady marketing tactic"? It is not a marketing tactic at all. It is a description for a genetic pattern and color. Refer to Draggintails website for plenty of information on what a true citrus tiger is. You can call it a yellow tiger too. Brandon is right in that...

When to move her to a laying box

If they aren't fertile, she may just start dropping them in the tank on the carpet. If you see her glass dancing or digging at the carpet, get her into a lay bin. Good luck

    Eggs Smell

If they are plump and white, nothing to be concerned about. Not sure what you are smelling.

    Eggs

You are doing everything right. She may drop one or two more but most likely she is finished. She will probably start devouring food very soon. They are usually hungry after laying. Good luck!

    vermiculite or......

I am a big fan of vermiculite. You are going to have a hard time finding pure vermiculite at your big box stores like H.D. or Lowes. Find a local mom and pop nursery and give them a call. They probably have it. If not, order online. It isnt heavy and isnt expensive to ship.

    Incubator question ???

You really should keep your incubators as clean as possible. I use distilled or RO water in mine. I completely decon. and dry out when not in use. Good luck!

    Leatherback

Very well put Charles! Too many "breeders" today are driving down the cost because they get in over their heads and breed too many dragons and then they realize how expensive they are to take care of them and so they just try to sell them for less than they are worth. Many of these really...

    Got Tigers?!

Hey Johnny, You did get very lucky! Sometimes nice dragons end up in mom and pop type pet stores. No one can really say if it is a "tiger" or not without breeding it. If you bred him to a non-tiger female and got strong barring with the offspring, then he is a "tiger". If you like the...

Female hasnt had clutch in 2 1/2 years

Hi Paul, I see no one has responded so I will give you my 2 cents for what its worth. First, separate these dragons if you want to try to breed them. The fact that the female constantly digs and has no nails on her front feet is concerning. You say they get along fine....I say she sounds...

    Nippy babies

Curious as to how much you are feeding them? What color morph are they? Certain lines of citrus seem to be more prone to nipping. I had a lot more nips last year than this year. This year I can count on one hand the # of nips and I have produced more than double the number of dragons. I...

My Leatherback Hypo Trans babies have arrived!!!!

You got it Greathouse! And as far as silkies go, they are aliens in my opinion and shouldnt be bred. There is a problem when a reptile has to have lotion applied to it. I will NEVER produce one.

My Leatherback Hypo Trans babies have arrived!!!!

Good stuff. Be careful though. The silkback gene is NOT co-dominant. It is the "super" form or dominant form of the co-dominant gene(leatherback). If you breed a silkie (and for your dragons sake I hope the silkie is a male!) to a normal you will get leatherbacks.
