Just to check what are you measuring the temps with? The stick on and dial ones are very inaccurate...the digital ones with the probe or the IR heat guns are most accurate. Also he could be getting ready to shed in addition to relocation stress.

I have used their lights before...I know if you use their lights the Mega-ray MVB is the good one to use. There were some issues around 2009 with some bulbs because of a supplier issue but I know a few years ago they had the best MVB you could buy and were highly recommended on here.

The issue with the alfalfa pellets is that they can get ingested and cause impaction...all loose substrate is usually a bad idea...you could go with tile, reptile carpet, non-adhesive shelf liner, or even paper towel for some examples that are much safer. Also housing more than one beardie...

I wanted to find a human heating pad...it'll be on top of a counter and just feel safer having a human on sitting between the counter and the plastic bin...did find some on amazon...think I'm gonna order one tomorrow.
