What does it mean when BD closes their eyes while being petted?

I thought it means a BD is enjoying being petted. I did read the contrary. It said it means a BD is tolerating but not necessarily liking the attempting to show affection. Any thoughts?

Leaving a BD alone for 4 days… He is a healthy 7 year old male. Will he be ok if I I leave him ?

Unfortunately not. His lights and basking bulb are set by a timer. He will not eat for 4 days. And pooping in his viv is something he moves and stays away from.

Is your BD currently brumating ?

Thanks. Rocky’s appetite is as big as today. Loves to eat. None of my previous 4 dragons slept for several months. That sounds like hibernating. A tortoise I had did sleep through a couple of months.

Is your BD currently brumating ?

Hi Tracie, in terms of any brumation phase, I understand this time of year beardies go into brumation. He is eating and pooing normally. Loves to eat. How can I change his sleepiness? Is this brumation or his age (8 years old)?

Is your BD currently brumating ?

I bought Rocky when he was ~ 3 months old from a breader. He’s always had a dark beard. The husbandry is excellent. New 10 uvb (Reptisun T8). His temps are measured daily with a lazer. He loves to eat!

Is your BD currently brumating ?

I believe my 8 year old Rocky has been in brumation for the last few weeks. He still eats as usual but lays around with his eyes closed.

Spending time at cool side of viv. Why?

After he eats. He spends more time (wherever he’s in his home 😊) sleeping. It’s not brumating season. So is it a sign of older age? He certainly is living up to their name “lazy lizards”.

Spending time at cool side of viv. Why?

My 8 year old male has chosen to spend most of the time on the opposite side of his viv, which is the cool side. This is unusual for him. He’s eating/pooping as usual, except pooping in the viv. He has trained me to take him to a sink with water and then poops. He waits at the front nearest to...

Blood during bath in sink: help

Rocky’s getting Bene Bac (probiotic) and then 15 mins later Trimethoprim / Sulfamethoxazole. He’s not interested in eating and seems depressed. The antibiotic is the reason for these side effects.
