Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

What kind of thermometer do you have? I have a digital one that is part of his cage. Also,I switched UV lights and got a different heat bulb seems to have made a world of difference. Don’t forget they like gaping to regulate temps. I don’t know if you know a lot about them or not.

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

His mouth is staying completely closed now. It appears I wasn’t keeping his cage the right temperature, once I got that figured out he/she got the mouth closed. Now he eats and sleeps normally. No crack in the mouth and appears healthy, just sheds a lot.

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

The local petstore sells silkworms, waxworms, superworms and mealworms basically any kinds of worms. I have never had a problem with keeping crickets as long as they are the original brown crickets and not the banded crickets. I hate those banded crickets and so does my bearded dragon. He does...

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

She still doesn’t allow me to get the dubia roaches. Bad experience when she was little I guess and when she sees them in a petstore she screams and leaves as soon as possible. The BSFL I have bought that before but he only seemed interested in it when they turned into the actual flies. The...

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

Yesterday he was real dark with a lot of stress marks on his belly. So I took him out of his cage and held him for about a half hour and he went back to his normal color with no stress marks. About 10-15 minutes after I put him back in his cage he went dark again with lots of stress marks again...

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

He does not bang his mouth off the cage often although it has happened a few times. He will chase the crickets and catch them hitting his mouth off the sides of the cage in the process. I have not seen anything coming out of his mouth. I also listened to his breathing and did not hear any...

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

Humidity is around 35. I have changed the lighting. He seems to be moving around more now. His mouth will go completely closed except the front of it. It will stay slightly cracked open. Yes he bangs his mouth/nose off the cage when he chases crickets and he hits pretty hard.

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

He likes chasing crickets and when he is chasing them he gets in full attack mode and hits his mouth off the cage when catching food. Could he maybe have injured his mouth? Like maybe but a lip or knocked out a tooth? Do they even have teeth? Thanks

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

His tank setup is a 36”x12” tank for now. He has a 150 watt heat bulb which keeps it at around 105 degrees on the hot side and 75 degrees on the cold side. He also has a 10.0 coil UV bulb, but it is getting changed for a uv light either today or tomorrow. I’m hoping. His feedings are crickets...

Bearded dragon mouth slightly cracked open

Hi So the past 3-4 days I’ve noticed my bearded dragons mouth is slightly cracked open. Everyone is telling me he is gaping. It does not look like gaping to me. He is still eating find and pooping fine but his mouth being slightly cracked open is worrying me. The closet exotic vet to me is...

Anyone have any help for me? I put double sided Ed tape all around the top across the bottom and on every corner. They are still getting in.

I call them little red piss ants. The tank is on a stand. There is nothing in the tank that could be attracting them. The only thing I can think of off hand is the calcium powder, could that be it? If so, why aren’t they in the container I use to dust his crickets? Thanks

    Temperature gun

Not in the food. Just crawling around on the bottom and sides of the tank. I’ve never had this problem before not even with all of the other lizards I’ve had. It’s like 100s of them. Thanks I’ll try the bait. I just hope they don’t make it back to the cage.
