    Ciproflaxin after amputation?

I hope its good, shortly after the amputation the vet said "upon further reviewing the xray of the tail vertebrae I probably should have cut a little more - there is a slight discoloration in the vertebrae above my cut" ... what a nightmare ... :banghead: They provided me with an insulin...

    Ciproflaxin after amputation?

He's doing well, eating as normal. They did show me how much to give him, I was just concerned as to the safety of it. I have read so many horror stories of beardies being sickened by antibiotics that we're giving unnecessarily. I held off as I'm not sure what to do. Updated photos below.

I hope so! I'm still unclear as to whether or not I should provide him with the Ciprofllaxin, just waiting on Terries thoughts.

    Ciproflaxin after amputation?

There does not appear to be any stitches. He is already eating very well. They did sedate him. I asked the same question prior and the vet said that it would be inhumane to operate without sedation.

Just a lot of concerns with threads I've read on beardies being medicated to death. A photo of the meds are below, I can post a pic of his tail in...

    Ciproflaxin after amputation?

We chose to today because from the 18th-today he has what appears to be tail rot that has accelerated in very quickly. Here is an image from the 18th vs. today (21st): 08/18 08/20: 08/21: The vet we went to today confirmed that it was tail rot, and recommended amputation + 8 day...

    Ciproflaxin after amputation?

Our baby beardie received an amputation this evening, and the doctor prescribed an 8 day course of Cipro. Beardie weighs 8 grams, is this safe? Anyone with experience or information on providing such a small beardie Cipro? Thank you in for your help!

Please tell me this isn't tail rot

Thank you for your response @AHBD! We've replaced the original lights that came with the dual domes, both were upgraded (75w → 100w basking bulb, 13w → 26w UVB). We have an Arcadia 12% that'll be used on his 'permanent' tank which arrives in a week or two. I appreciate your help, we'll keep...
