    Beardie making inhaling noises

What substrate would you recommend? I’ve used liner before but I didn’t really like it because it was hard to clean. The mesh isn’t fine, it’s wide holed.

    Beardie making inhaling noises

There’s no clicking noises, just deep inhaling. The UVB is 8 inches away, I use infrared thermometer to measure temps. I’m not sure what type of substrate to get because I’ve used so many different kinds in the past and they all have negatives. Maybe tile.

    Beardie making inhaling noises

I can try taking a video tomorrow. Humidity is 40%. I use exoterra basking bulbs, I know they’re a rip off I just have a huge supply of them so I haven’t went to buy regular bulbs yet.

    Beardie making inhaling noises

My dragon Talon is 2.5 years old, eats great. Crickets, dubias, occasional hornworms. Bok choy, endive, radicchio, bunch of varied veggies. But lately I’ve noticed when I feed him I hear him breathing, like an inhale. And that scares me! My first beardie died after making noises, and the vet...

Beardie won’t eat anything but hornworms and waxworms

Hi! My beardie named Talon is about 2 years old now and has always been a great eater with bugs and salads. About 4 months ago that changed and he stopped eating his crickets and salads. I thought he might’ve been brumating, but it’s been 4 months now. He won’t eat any salads anymore (I used to...

Not eating, black beard after following vet instructions

I feed him crickets mainly, waxworms and hornworms rarely as a treat. For his salads endive, bok choy, collard greens, and mango every other week cause he loves mango.

Not eating, black beard after following vet instructions

It’s only 4 months, I’ve been replacing them every 6. Is there ever a faulty uvb? Because he’s been having eating issues just as long as I’ve gotten the new one, could just be coincidence but that’s definitely the time frame. Right now the heat lamp is directly above his basking spot, do you...

Not eating, black beard after following vet instructions

Also, this won’t help his appetite but are there any brands you recommend for supplements? I use flukers but I kind of assume it’s not the best because it’s the only brand I find in pet stores

Not eating, black beard after following vet instructions

So my beardie Talon has always been a great eater ever since a few months ago. I figured he was brumating (although this is the first year he’s been an adult) so I took him to the vet to be sure. They told me it wasn’t hot enough and that infrared thermometers were only accurate for seeing the...

    Beardie suddenly lost appetite?

He’s not basking as often. His poops smell normal, although he is pooping less often. I’ll probably take him to a vet just to make sure everything is okay. I also might switch back to crickets and see if he eats them better.

    Beardie suddenly lost appetite?

It’s a wide hole and it’s about 7-8 inches away from his basking spot. I don’t know why it would change his appetite if it’s always been like that, and he recently started not eating. His uvb has been the same and nothing has changed. (Although I certainly can replace it, it’s been only 4 months...

    Beardie suddenly lost appetite?

Hi! I have a beardie named Talon that is about 16 months old. He has always been a great eater with both salads and bugs. About a month ago I started feeding him less bugs and more salads cause he was a little on the chubby side. About two weeks ago he started to barely touch his food. I...

    Liquid calcium?

I’m just looking for a good calcium supplement because my dragon doesn’t like powder, he doesn’t have MBD or anything, but I certainly don’t want him to get it.

    Water Dish?

I’m sorry for your loss. I also had a dragon with a respiratory infection (and other issues), she has since passed away. I now realize that I cared too much about the humidity— don’t get me wrong, humidity levels are important, but adding a water dish into your tank will not end up killing your...

    Liquid calcium?

I finally got a new bearded dragon after my last one passed... his name is Talon and has been in much better health. The only issue I have is that he does not eat bugs that have been dusted. I’ve tried several different brands of calcium powder, but he will not eat it. I don’t want him to be...

Coughing, black beard, not moving much

I doubt I’ll get another dragon. Not for a while anyways. Kind of feel like if I deserved one she would’ve stayed alive. But regardless, I think I actually had a t5 and not a t8... does that make any difference with the screen? Again, not sure if I would get another one, but still would like to...

Coughing, black beard, not moving much

Just put her down. Vets said there was something wrong with her throat, were going to try steroids and we’d take her home for the night and get an appt. tomorrow. Her heart suddenly slowed and I had to put her down. I had her for less than a year but she’ll definitely be missed. She was a good...
