    Weight and Length Chart

Remembering that they all grow at their own rates, I still like to reference these growth charts sometimes for reassurance. They're a good example of the variety you can have in sizes. http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Growth.html

Falqors Diet | Primary Food Sources?

I think impaction is the main problem at this age. As long as she's still pooping fine, I would think no longterm harm done (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). But I would get new feeders immediately and not take the risk of continuing to feed the supers.

Falqors Diet | Primary Food Sources?

How old is your beardie? Supers aren't supposed to be fed to a baby at all, and are only to be used as occasional treats for adults. There are a wide variety of staples you can use in place of crickets. Dubias are commonly raised by beardie owners and provide great nutrition, silkworms are...

    Feeding twice a day?

Whew! I like that answer. lol Thank you!! I'm willing to change things if I need to for the sake of my beardie, but if what we're doing is ok for her, I'll just stick with what she's used to. It seems to be working. She seems to be getting plenty of food, she's growing like crazy, and she...

    Feeding twice a day?

Ok, I’ll keep trying the three feedings a day and see if she’ll get used to that. Thank you!

    Oh, sorry, BSFL.

    Feeding twice a day?

So I just read last night that Jayne is supposed to be fed insects three times a day. She's approximately 3 months old. I have been feeding her insects twice a day (with salad available all throughout the day), and she has been growing well. She's grown more than an inch in length in the last...

Am I doing things right? Parasites!

I believe 115* is too hot a basking spot--even for a baby. For a dragon over a year old, I think it's supposed to be closer to 95*. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the weird behavior. Just something you may want to look into.

Clarification on the dusting of Calcium/Multivitamin powder

I also got confused with which vitamins to use when and how often. I ended up going with Repashy Calcium Plus. I dust all insects with it. Then you don't have to figure when to use calcium, when to use multi-vit, etc.

    Switching Up Feeders

I'm pretty sure supers are supposed to be used as a treat, not a staple. BSFL are a great staple insect. It's good to continue to use various safe insect treats and variety. For a variety of feeding ideas, the following is one of the best sites and is color-coded to let you know how often...

    Cross-species illnesses?

How scary that your snake got bit! Glad she recovered. I'd be scared to have them out at the same time. The bp is 4.5 feet long. My beardie is only about 8 inches (though even when he's bigger, I would never let them be out together). We also have a sand boa named Malcolm and a leo named...

    Cross-species illnesses?

We ended up with a spur-of-the-moment unexpected rescue ball python last night. She is being kept in a different room than my other reptiles, especially my sand boa. I'm meticulous about hand-washing (and even changing clothes, if necessary) between handling my animals or messing with anything...

    Shy Eater

Thanks! I’m looking forward to him settling down and be happy and comfortable here.

    Shy Eater

He spends a lot of his time on his basking rock, sneaking down to eat. But it seems like he feels safe there and anchors himself to it. His poop looks good, once a day, good amount of dark brown and white, holds its shape. Sometimes on his log, sometimes on his paper towels, sometimes right...

    Shy Eater

I’ve only had him for just over two weeks. So with time, he’ll likely get used to eating with me around? That’s encouraging! So if he doesn’t eat any within a few minutes of us hiding around the corner, should I still pull them out until the next feeding? Will he catch on that he’d better...

    Shy Eater

So my beardie hates being seen when he eats. He'll sneak over and grab a bite or two, but if he notices anybody watching, he runs right back up onto his rock. I've read you're supposed to feed insects 3x a day, as much as they'll eat in 10-15 minutes. But I can't get him to eat any while I'm...
