Do you think bearded dragons can sense death?

Siren, that was a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it.

    Bearded dragon vomiting??

Antibiotics are a safety measure in case anything wound up growing in the veggie/bug matter that sat in his belly for a month-plus. They're doing a blood panel with results to be determined tomorrow; I assume that if the panel is normal, we may be able to cut the antibiotics short. I do trust...

    Bearded dragon vomiting??

Here we go: Had bloodwork done, no results yet. They gave him a vitamin B supplement as a booster and sent us home with an antibiotic and an appetite stimulant, told us to keep his temps up and that we were doing a great job with him. He was a little dehydrated, but otherwise, seems great...

    Bearded dragon vomiting??

Getting ready to take him into the specialist on an emergency call. This morning he's basking and a little more lively, he took a little more water. Hopefully an x-ray or a blood test can give a bit more information.

    Bearded dragon vomiting??

Took him into a pretty good vet clinic the local reptile house suggested for him a while ago, they did some prelim diagnostic stuff and said they couldn't say for sure what's going on with the guy, but that it sounded like we were doing the right stuff. They have referred us to an exotic...

    Bearded dragon vomiting??

Hey all! Just 10 minutes ago, Rincewind started vomiting and managed to get up a pretty decent amount of partially digested lettuce and superworms. He's been off for a while which I assumed was due to brumation (and it seemed like it was). I was waking him for baths, he wasn't losing weight, I...

    Loss of appetite, infrequent pooping

Overdue update (Sorry!) It would appear after all this drama, we're looking at a pending brumation period. I've been adjusting my set-up to be inline with suggestions here and switched up feeders, but I also went back and really read through the brumation article and some of the forum posts on...

The "Save" button is killing me. I keep thinking I've replied and I wind up saving drafts, which I then can't find. Ay yi yi. It is a temp gun. I've rearranged his tile stacks so he isn't as close to the bulbs but is still close to the UV bulb. He's been blackbearding a little more this last...

    Loss of appetite, infrequent pooping

I'm using a wand to measure temps, a digital infrared laser thermometer you point at the place you want to measure temps and it reads out on a display on the wand. There's no probe. He is in a 18x20x48 glass tank. I am now using 2 75w bulbs with a deep dome fixture.

AHBD, he is about 10 inches nose to vent and about 7-9 more inches vent to tail tip. He's definitely still a chubster right now. diamc, I'm using a digital thermometer about 2" from the topmost tiles. I've switched to 75w bulbs and today I'll check temps after they've warmed up for an hour or...

    Loss of appetite, infrequent pooping

diamc, I am using the 10.0 Reptisun, it's about 15 inches from his basking spot at a slight diagonal. I have two bulbs directly over his basking spot. If the general consensus is too hot, I'll dial down the heat this week and see what happens. Thanks, all, for your replies so far! I've been...

    Loss of appetite, infrequent pooping

He doesn't appear to be losing weight, at his last weigh-in, he was about 23oz and the vet said that was a little heavy. His basking temps have been between 105-120 this last year.

    Loss of appetite, infrequent pooping

Hey all, I'm having an interesting time here with my dragon, Rincewind. He seems to have lost all appetite and he poops only about once every two weeks or so. Back around Christmas, he went almost a month, I took him into the vet for x-rays and a check-up, and he was just really full of crap...

2+ weeks, no poop... ideas? help?

Whoa! I'm also in Oregon. This cold, grey weather doesn't really help them regulate sleep schedules.
